Loose headphone jack? It's not loose, or shouldn't be! Most likely you havne't pushed the jack into the slot hard enough. THere's a little octagonal thing, it aligns and catches the jack's octagonal. Once you put some force there, it'll connect PERFECTLY! but i don't care for earbuds, so my SONY headphone fits just as nicely.

Force wasn't the answer. Trimmed something less than 1/8&quot; on the male plug's plastic so could fit properly into the slightly recessed port on the JamP3. Now snaps in like it should and seems securely inserted.

The earbuds which came with my JamP3 fit fine, but that funky looking yellow headset (the one you wear on the back of your head and has a coiled cord) I picked up free after rebate at Circuit City did not fit properly. Have not tried any others.

I had 2 of these from the Radeon deal. I couldnt get the stupid thing to play after the music was transfered to the player. Not one but both had the same problem. Id venture to say that it was user error, but since I pawned off the 2 players I still made out.

I used the win2k procedure in winME and it worked perfectly. First remove the jamp3 from add/remove software in control panel, then remove musicmatch (probably not necessary), then I cleaned out every instance of jamp3 and kbgear from my registry, then rebooted and plugged in the jamp3. This time when windows recognized the device, it found a &quot;USB disk.&quot; Then I opened up windows explorer and I had a new drive which I could drag and drop files to copy to my player and it worked great, only downside is that you have to resample the mp3s to lower bitrate on your own if you want to fit more then 3-4 songs on the tiny 16MB or storage. Hope this helps.

OK, I just used my utility knife to trim the surranding area of the earphone jack. Now this player can take any headphones. The plastic is pretty soft, and easy to cut, as well as your finger.

Also, to those who still want to use this player, encode mp3 as 22050Hz, 48K bitrate. So this player can have usable length of music. Do not listen it using earphone, or connect it to home audio system at any bitrate. Use it in a car that has poor, basic factory audio system, and has noisy engine. Then, it will work fine.

bump for a great deal-or is it too late. I tried ordering it online with the coupon that expired on the 24 and they didnt let me do it so I called a live rep and she helped me and used the coupon code. I was sooo happy that I asked her who to report to when you have a nice rep on the phon efor a change who has the mental tools to help you. After &quot;reporting&quot; her I went and had a great day. I wanted an MP3 player for sooo long already

The coupon may still work, but the JamP3 is $10 more this week than last ($49.99 vs $39.99) so add that to the cost. It's probably still a decent deal for $10, if you're not as picky as some of those who have complained about this here. Also, by ordering by phone, you lose the ebates discount.
