$20?? The X800XL at ~$250 is ~$50 more than this Pro deal at ~$205 shipped?

Would anyone buying ANYTHING from the ATI web-site please provide your "rounded off" order number (i.e., not your EXACT order number for privacy sake)? I'm trying to gauge how many products ATI has sold through their web-site during the last couple of weeks.

Thanks in advance!

Tiger Direct is selling new Connect X800XT for $249. Anyone know the differences in clockspeeds between this and the PE version? Apparently the Connect3D is VIVO as well.

I thought this was a mistake at TD?

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=40&threadid=1642088&enterthread=y

Or is this NOW the correct price and product?
The model number is the correct one for the X800XT. Still, if the ATI version is PE, wouldn't it be better? Apparently TD sends out used items for "new" anyways, so I think I'd rather just wait for ATI and get their warranty.

Plus TD's adds another $10 for shipping. IF it was a new card...pretty good deal though. I must admit, TD is STILL a lower tier e-tailer IMO.

cool - I only read the title of this thread (ATI RADEON X800 PLATINUM @229.00) - didn't read the whole thing. I can see it if the difference is really $50, or 20%.

The X800XT PE for $229 seems like a good deal.
But, it is showing pre-order.

Has anyone recieved one of these from pre-order?
If so, can you confirm these are X800XT PE?

X800XT PE is the same card as X800XT except with a little faster core/mem clock speed. You can overclock the X800XT to PE without any problem..

thanks for the link to TD, I couldn't wait for the ATI deal, so I order one from TD.

Well geez there has only been 10,941 orders processed between the time moomoo40moo purchased and cuttergallery did. Of course I am sure most of these were a totally different card ATI has such good pricing on!

I caved and ordered one earlier today!!!
Hopefully we all won't be disappointed or ATI will likely lose a lot of future customers, at least until the next kicking card they create.

Well...this means ~35,540 orders were placed with ATI from July 29, 2005 at ~2:30 p.m. (my purchase date/time with an order number of ~CNL1997060) until 8/10/05 at 11:00 p.m. or over ~12.5 days. I bet 35,539 of these orders were for the X800 Pro and X800 XT PE with 1 order placed for a DVI dongle;-)

Looks like ATI has been getting ~2,875 orders per day pretty much consistently over the last 12 days.

I think this video card deal will only be around for another 3 days or so. For anyone "riding the fence", you may want to consider making a decision fairly soon. I think the above because if ATI can't build/ship the cards (i.e., bank revenue) by their quarter's end on August 31, they have little reason to "order" more components to build "old" cards.

Might be even more than that. My order number is 19945XX at 12:09pm July 29. That's approximately 2,500 orders in under 2 1/2 hours when compared to your order number/timestamp. Actual order time here was 3:09pm EST.

Anybody else have an even lower order number?

I received my X800 Pro yesterday and I've been putting it through the tests. It runs wonderfully. Fear looks amazing at 1776x1000 on my HDTV, and so does HL2! I might place an order for the XT PE and then if it comes I'll sell the X800 Pro, I'm still debating about that. :)

Did it look refurbed, or new?

I ordered one of the 800 PRO's also.. Arrived yesterday.. Haven't put it through it's paces yet, but it clearly blows my 9800 PRO away..

It looks like a new card, so there is no indication of why it is a refurb..

It wouldn't surprise me if 99% of these are just people with inadequate PSU's, or unable to get the drivers installed...

How was the packaging? Did the card come in a retail box with shrink-wrap and all the accessories?

Thanks,

Bud

It was a plain white box, had manual, Driver CD and all the cables and connectors you see here:

All along I've believed these cards would be NEW cards from the ATI factory (i.e., that's why I ordered 2 cards;-). If anyone receives a card which most likely is NOT new...please post your observations.

Thanks,

Bud

I would suspect overstocked OEM bundles... Doesn't account for the XT that isn't available yet.. However they could be anticipated returns from builders like DEll, who may be returning them..
