What cards are you all using with this? I have an Orinoco gold but was wondering if it would take full advantage of the router's transfer speeds.

I have the same card and am waiting for my 614+ to be delivered tomrrow. The router has a faster 22mbps wireless mode that is not available with the Orinoco. So you will max out at 11mbps with the OGold card. You will need to buy an "enhanced 802.11b" wireless card that supports the 22mbps speed if you want to "take full advantage" etc...

Do you also have to go with a D-link enhanced modem to complete the package and enable the 22mbps ... or just the equipment downstream from the router?

Ordered: 3/16 around 11:30AM
Location: Raleigh, NC
Shipped from 1122: Charlotte CSC (Customer Service Center?)
Same problem here, with the same card (but Mini-PCI) and same router firmware. I never had this connection dropping problem with my DI-713P, so I'm going to try another wireless card and contact D-Link. Maybe a new firmware will fix it...Originally posted by: Tal
I'm pretty sure that this is a problem on my end, but I flashed the router to the newest firmware from D-link's site right after plugging it in (2.18). Now when I use my laptop with my Dell Truemobile 1150 (Orinoco Gold) card, I get dropped network connection for about 3 seconds and it's 10-15 minutes apart..... Anyone have any connection drops with this kinda setup? I flashed the Dell pcmcia with the 8.72 firmware also. This was an excellent deal BTW, Thanks to ericon and all! -TAL

DELIVERED!! Both of my orders too (3/19 @ 10:15 AM). With a final price of $21.40 each (before MIR). OD didn't change the price of my orders like what they did to some people. So thats 3 wireless routers total for me. I should of ordered more but oh well. Time to put them on eBay.
The deal isn't dead as yet. You can still get in on the deal at the B&M stores.
