I'm two side quests away from being done besides the armory one and the weapons of the lodge. I can't find the last two. I pretty much have the whole map uncovered. Only 3 more main quests to go.

NPCs stealing my kills are REALLY starting to piss me off.

My first fight with a Thunderjaw, I used about 5 tearblast arrows to take off all of his heave weapons. I've used a bunch of fire arrows setting him on fire and a bunch of precision arrows shooting the weak spot on it's head. I probably used 30+ arrows on it and had it down to 25% health...and then a troupe of NPCs come along and finish it off...I get no XP.

Later, I was taking on two Rockbreakers. I'd used 12+ tearblast arrows trying to blow off their digging claws. Then I was peppering their exhaust ports with precision arrows. I had both below 50% health...and a troupe of NPCs come along and finish them off...I get no XP.

I wasted tons of arrows and resources on those machines, and got no XP out of them.

May game clock says I am 40 hours in...at only 40% completion. I'm at level 33 right now.

I don't know if there is any replay value to this game, but if anyone finishes this game and wants to sell it, shoot me a PM.

In my opinion, no. Hell of a game. But it is a very long single player campaign especially if you do all the side quests. I'm at about 80% completion (game not beaten yet) and I'm starting to get burnt out. The go here, do that, rinse repeat thing is getting old.

It is well worth full price though!

Weapons of the lodge are the only thing I plan on skipping. The only tedious aspect to the game that I don't care to complete.

Yea replay value is next to none because it's not like the Witcher where you can get different endings. But if you do the errands and side quests it can be pretty long.

I'm only one side quest away from being tired of side quests and like 3 main quests away from the end of the game.

I'm skipping weapons of the lodge and ancient armory. But yea it does get old because a lot of the quests are a continuation of go here, now go here, and so on..At least towards the end of the game.

I'm 30% in and find I need much better weapons but can't find resources to purchase it. Like some heart or something. The mission (I forget the name of it) has me all the way NW and I need to pass some corruption area to find some ancient temple or something and I am trying all sorts of stealth and keep getting my ass handed to me. It almost feels like I missed a bunch of missions that I would find better weapons or something. I'm level 25 if that means anything.

the shadow weps you get from the vendor in merridian are the best ones you can get besides the ones from the hunters lodge quests. and the HL ones only have better handling, they are basically the same

are you going to Makers End?

Start collecting as many shards and machine hearts/parts as you can. In meridian, when you get to it, probably should be there by now, you must buy the shadow hunter bow so you can have hard point arrows. Pair this with some purple tear and damage coils and you should be good to go.

I struggled too with this because I didn't know about the shadow hunter items. Bought a few other bows and used them for a while until I finally got the hardpoint arrows.

Exactly what I did too.

I really liked the game a lot. Many of the side quests were very organic in nature and did not feel forced or stiff like can happen with other games. I cannot wait to see what they do with a sequel. I just hope there is more weapon variety, more enemy variety, and more information about the machine virus and such that is never explained.

OK, I made it through the level. Stealth killed all the cultist, brought down the Deathbringer rather easily with well placed arrow shots. Was a great experience.

has anyone actually used the rope gun or whatever it is that ties down machines? seemed like a lot of work and I didn't want to use up a slot.

3 shadow bows + tripcaster for me

I did because when you tie down a thunder jaw you can override it and have it fight for you.

I did them all but it was the last one I did I think. I do not remember exactly which one.

I don't even know how I stumbled on to the first cauldron. How do you find the rest ? Are they the blue symbol looking things?

Yes exactly. Look for that symbol on the map and go there. I believe the first one is part of the story and the game tells you to find others to learn how to override more machines.

I have only been able to play about 4 hours total and have been tied up with all the other games out. Might just let you have it since I won't get around to playing it.

Ropecastors are awesome. A fun mechanic to play with.

Thing is, I find fire arrows to be overpowered. So long as you can make more via crafting, you can just hammer away at almost any beast and eventually kill it. Most beasts freak out over being on fire and just sit their wiggling. Rarely will a beast attack while on fire.

I did override a snapjaw a few days ago that was parto f a pack of 3. And that was epic. The snapjaw took one of the others out on it's own and took half the life out of the other.

The best way to fight a group of snapmaws, is use a hardpoint arrow to knock the armor off one's blaze cannister, then use a fire arrow to blow up the blaze canister.

So far the biggest PITA to fight for me has been the Stormbird and the Behemoths.

Thunderjaws aren't all that bad once you take out their disc launchers and cannons, they never seem to charge. The behemoths will charge you and use long range attacks.

I know there is a cauldron where you have to fight a Thunderjaw in an enclosed space....that will be a PITA

The worst enemies for me were swarms of glint hawks. They move all over and blast you with ice. They are just a little difficult to target accurately and that is annoying. All the supposedly big tough enemies were pretty simple for me.

Well let me know if you decide. I probably won't get around to playing it for some time but if I have it sitting around at least I can just grab it whenever.
