I had a pretty frustrating fight which, like others mentioned, make me wish there was a lock on camera of some kind. I also kept getting caught on trees, ruins, etc while dodging and got cornered by something I couldn't see off screen. The FOV needs to be a bit wider. I didn't notice until I got into more large scale battles but the camera is really zoomed in and its a little annoying.
Anyway, got through the first cauldron and I liked that. Since it was close quarters I did a more stealth approach and found away around the baddies instead of picking them off like I normally do, and it was a nice change of pace in game play style which still worked well.
I'm appreciating the balance in weapons that I currently have, because I'm switching between several different ammo and weapon types in each fight to be the most effective. I initially thought the tripcaster was awkward and not worth bothering with, but it's become quite useful with a lot of enemies. I also like the crafting system, which isn't new by any stretch but I think it's the most well balanced from what I'm used to. Comparing with the last couple Far Cry games, one of the first things I did in those games was to max out all my capacity upgrades, and it was pretty simple to do. In HZD it seems like it's taking longer, and each upgrade feels like a greater accomplishment than it did in farcry. The fact that I also have to craft all my ammo on the fly during fights adds to it as well.
