Newzbin2 closed a couple of weeks ago, now Nzbmatrix.

So now where do you go to get your nzbs?

For now the built in search feature of Newsbin Pro works pretty nicely. It's not ideal but will suffice until another site like NZBmatrix comes along.

newsgroups are being heavily targeted as of late. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Which is funny because I am sure torrents have a lot more users still. Newsgroups are harder to figure out for the general public. Most people aren't that smart and will resort to just using something easier like torrents.

nzbindex and nzbclub are still out there. It's a manual kind of way to find things, but it still works.

piracy is not allowed to be discussed here, the mods will delete it

I cant speak for the end of the other thread, but the big problem is many people automatically assume newsgroups = piracy. Which is 100% BS. NZB's are used for more than just downloading recent movie releases. Its like saying someone who uses TOR *must* be doing something illegal.

maybe because newsgroups have pirated stuff, and if I want to download something legitimate, I'd do it from a legitimate source, not from one that carries troublesome stuff.

I prefer torrents for philosophical reasons, and I think it's outstanding tech. I'll always take the torrent option if it's given, regardless of content.

So you don't download Linux ISOs or update Blizzard games through torrents then? Because that's the same logic, there's plenty of legitimate content on newsgroups out there.

The internet has illegal stuff so should we assume anyone using the internet is accessing it?

See how silly that argument is?

Bullshit.

Nobody uses Usenet to legitimately distribute large binaries, and they haven't since the World Wide Web matured. Although Tor and BitTorrent have attributes useful for software pirates, they also have demonstrated legitimate uses. Indeed, anyone that does need to legitimately distribute a large file without going through the standard corporate channels would just use BitTorrent.

Untrue.

I have plenty of legitimate files on newsgroups.

Yeah. Nobody does. Im sure these groups (just as an example) are filled with illegal content:

alt.binaries.pictures.autos
alt.binaries.pictures.cartoons
alt.binaries.pictures.celebrities
alt.binaries.pictures.fine-art
alt.binaries.pictures.gardens
