If you reply with "lol pwned" or other such sh!t feel free to fvck yourself.

*edit*I placed this order ON THE PHONE and the guy gave me a grand total of $222. BUT I was never sent an order confirmation email. Later called DPA about why and they said it's not their practice to do so.*edit*

I ordered the Logitech Z-5500's.

Here's MY math. I paid through DPA.:

Z-5500 Digital Speaker System........$239.20
FlyFan USB Fan (filler)......................$10.36

Sub-Total........................................$249.56

$249.56 - $35 off ($300 order, which it was BEFORE all discounts) = $214.56

$214.56 - $4.29 (2% Dell Preferred Account Discount) = $210.27

$210.27 + $12.62 (6% tax) = $222.89

Here's THEIR math:

Sub-Total $249.56

$249.56 + $14.98 = $264.54

Customer Service Reps........................................................

1st CSR (Dell Preferred Account CSR): I'm sorry, you have to talk to Customer Service about this. Transfers me.

2nd CSR: Helps me for 10 minutes, puts me on hold and I get disconnected and magically booted into their automated phone service thing.

3rd CSR (went back to Customer Service): You have to talk to Dell Financial Services about this.... You have to talk to Sales about this. Transfers me.

4th CSR (Sales): I'm sorry, your order has already been placed and I can't change it. Talk to sales about this.

But this IS sales....

Then let me transfer you to the person who placed your order. Transfers me.

5th CSR: YOU HAVE REACHED A NON-WORKING DELL NUMBER.

6th CSR (Customer Service Chat): I'm sorry, you have to contact Order Support Chat. Gives me a link.

7th CSR (Order Support Chat): You have to talk to Sales at this number during these times.

8th CSR (Sales): Your $35 off coupon was not applied because COUPON CODES CANNOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH DELL PREFERRED ACCOUNTS. I have been working in DPA for a long time and know the rules. You are wrong. Everyone who's ever used a coupon code and DPA at the same time and had their order go through is WRONG.

Ok, the last statement. What's going on? I am really, REALLY pissed right now. Three solid hours on the phone.

And you didn't see this before you processed the order? I don't know of any e-commerece that doesn't tell you the exact total while checkout.

That's your problem right there. How do you expect to get $35 off $300 if the final total isn't $300?

Once again...

I think we'll be switching to IBM notebooks soon from Dell. Too many problems so far.

I agree that Dell is unbelievably hard to reach via telephone. Oddly once I had actually connected to a customer support rep in India, things went silky smooth and competently.

I don't have any problem with Dell. I rather like them. But their phone system sucks. Luckily all my dealings are corporate and we have direct lines to support.

Although, I am beginning to wonder if we should be switching to another vendor for laptops. These new silver laptops just keep getting worse in my opinion... they moved both the hard drive and pcmcia/smartcard underneath the left palm rest, so some people complain about the vibration from the HD, and it gets really hot if you put a pccard in.
