(OG)SSAA like in Sleeping Dogs is very inefficient in terms of image quality/performance, because it uses an ordered grid. A rotated/sparse grid would yield a far better antialiasing effect. But that requires MSAA...

Yes, it does. You will know it when you try a haswell with 7970 ghz. It is about the core. I doesnt matter whether a core i7 third gen is mild oced or a 6 core heavy oc. A stock core i5 haswell will do the job much better.

Another benchmark from Computerbase, using Cat 12.11b8 and 310.54. They are not using the integrated benchmark but a savegame at the beginning of the game.

How representative is the integrated benchmark really? Seems to me that IHVs like to optimize for these things, but ingame it might look different.

So, i downloaded this a couple days ago and have no performance problems at all. Im running at 1900x1200 with "ultra" settings. 2 (1GB) 460s and an i7 980x. Oddly, i did not see any changes in FPS with different settings.

from the pcgamer review...
And guess what? DRM! Despite the fact that the contracts themselves must be tiny amounts of data, you can’t play any of them – even your own – offline. You have to be connected and logged in, and if their servers are down, you’re shut out. They’ve really done an impressive job of racking up all the different ways you can irritate PC gamers.
::sigh:: Idiots.
Time to wait for it to hit the bargain bins.

Wanna bet that 3930k will increase your FPS a bit and smoothness much more? And Haswell will make you increase the settings and still feel smoother?

Doubtful. Overclocking will make up for any IPC improvements.

I've been playing through Hitman for a bit this week and I'm really liking the game. It's a little more "focused" than previous entries in the series, but there's still a ton of variability in how you attack the levels. I also like how they give points for mixing it up, as in previous games there were only certain paths/methods to getting high-ranking (silent assassin) ratings. The graphics are also well done, although they could be better optimized. I'm getting mostly 50-60FPS with vsync on, but I have my 7970 @ 1325/1750. Pics (I don't think there are any spoilers):

Can you use an image hoster that isn't from the ass crack of the internet? I get tired of being asked to click to see emma watson's dress malfunction any time you post pictures. imgur.com is nice and clean.

Your image hoster is just asking to spread drive-by adobe and java exploits to the ATF masses from the looks of it.

Criticize me because your image hoster is shady. :thumbsup: Good job!

Again, you are trying to ridicule me because you are using a shady image hoster. (yes, image hosting sites that suggesting clicking their links will take you to compromising pictures of celebrities are, by definition, shady).

The biggest irony here is that we're looking at a game which focuses on graphic murder/assassination and which also features 10x the T&A any of those ads probably do. Observe:

Anywho, more random pics. I post ones that I think don't contain any spoilers:

I really like some of the art direction with this game and the texturing is some of the best I've seen. Also, the animations are sometimes eerily lifelike in their nuances, especially during cut scenes. Finally, point shooting allows for some awesome "John Woo" style kills. The game is a lot of fun and I don't mind the new direction of it. I'm playing mostly silent assassin/infiltration style during this play through, but I do want to go back and try out some more combat.

Totally different socket. Plus the game is perfectly smooth, how does one increase smoothness when smoothness is already perfectly smooth? Shrugs...
