Looks like a very-well done DX11 feature packed multi-platform game -- Global Illumination, FXAA, MSAA, Depth of Field, higher resolution textures than on consoles, Tessellation.

Tessellation is used in a subtle way to smooth out character joints/body lines.

    Drivers Used:

Nvidia GeForce / ION Driver Release 310.54
    AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta

CPU Benchmarks - this game responds extremely well to IPC of modern CPU architectures and flies on a 6-core i7.

Looks like a tour-de-force of DX11 features with MSAA are starting to mop the floor with modern GPUs at 1600P. It would be interesting to see another review that isolates the MSAA vs. FXAA performance hit.

*** As usual if you guys find more benchmarks of this game from other websites, please link them and I'll add them to the OP ***

Staying up to play this tonight. Already have it preloaded. :D It's been six years since Blood Money, way too long in my book.

Tessellation makes sense for 47's iconic dome, considering you stare at the back of it the whole game. Looks like I'm going to have to crank the clocks on my 7970 to get decent frame rates @ 2560x1600.

There is a huge difference in games at 2560x1600 between an HD7970 Ghz and a 1325+mhz HD7970. I think if you reduce the settings to 2xMSAA, it should be pretty good as it's not a fast FPS title that needs 60 fps for perfect accuracy. It's pretty amazing how companies like IO Interactive do a proper console port with DX11 features and then we have billion dollar companies like Activision just slapping DX11 on a box of COD : BO2. I can only imagine how much better this game could have been if it wasn't held back by current consoles.

I'm banking on it. :D Reviews I've read so far have stated that this game is more based on stealth and action compared to previous games, but it doesn't seem like they strayed terribly far. I completely agree about not needing 60FPS, not for this game and definitely not for me (I'm comfortable with anything over 30).
It certainly seems like they gave it a good effort. The graphics overall are impressive: some screens look amazing, some look just good. I'm not sure if its the variable quality or the images themselves, so I guess we'll have to see. I'm most interested in seeing if the framerate (or lack thereof) is justified. I'll be happy to post my own shots/synopsis tonight if you'd like, but I don't want to jack your thread.

Wow Nvidia is getting slaughtered in this one and nothing is playable at 2560 with msaa. I'll bet both companies have room for optimizations. I would like to see some benchmarks without AA.

Looks good. My 7970 @ 1100MHz and a 4GHz Thuban looks like a good match, yet. I might check this one out when it goes on sale. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Payday is Wednesday, I'll have a new time killer for the weekend... thanks. ;)

*edit - Looks like that price is for preorder and it releases tomorrow. I'll get around to getting it, but I do still have a game or two I haven't yet opened, and Torchlight 2 calls to me. Too many games, so little time lately. This is why I haven't upgraded my machine yet, the amount of time I can dedicate to gaming has dwindled lately. But, I'm looking forward to some dungeon crawling this weekend. Thanks again. :)

This game really kicks your GPU in the a**. I approve if the screenshots are a good indication of the overall visuals.

I've pre-ordered this. Looks like I'll be compromising some to keep at 60fps on my dual 680's. I wonder if it's like Sleeping dogs with a single setting that just tanks the nvidia fps.

Nice, looking forward to this, although it looks like I should've kept my other 7970 for this monitor :'( hehe

    Thanks for pointing that out.
HD4800 can be the HD4830 to the HD 4890, but it shows that gaming cards released 4 years ago can play the game just fine.

Those whining about the reviewer having tested a HD 4800 card really made me want to rage, it's damn good that sites try old cards as well:mad: Would be good if sites had more tests done with the minimum spec as well.

Seems like whoever is calling the shots took this game away from it's roots. That review wasn't that favorable and not all of that can be blamed on performance.

It's a public thread, of course you can share screens/your performance experience in how it relates to the game. You don't have to ask me for permission! Feel free to share screenshots or whatever gameplay experience you get at 1600P.

The average is about 80% for this game right now. The PC Gamer review is the most negative though. I think this game should be played on the harder settings from what I am reading, otherwise it's too easy and the enemy AI is too dumb on lower difficulty settings. On harder settings, it should become a much more difficult game, an actual Assassination puzzle game. Might not be everyone's cup of tea to try to beat a mission 10x and fail.

Alright just loaded up the benchmark. Results are pretty consistent with the review RS has in the OP. Here's a gallery: http://postimage.org/gallery/1ipw1yxs/

Basically, the first run is with my 7970 @ 1325/1750, second is at stock clocks of 925/1375. Clearly the overclocking helps a lot. I did a third run and took screens every ~5 sec so you guys can see what it looks like, and I also have a picture of the settings used (everything maxed, 4xMSAA, no FXAA). The final run is the same settings but AA turned off. Notice the FPS average is 52.16 as opposed to 29.80. o_O I'm taking about a 43% performance hit by just throwing on 4xMSAA, which is rubbish. I'm going to load up an SMAA injector I think and see how the game plays.

EDIT: So I set the SMAA injector to Ultra and got a 46.43FPS average @ 1325/1750. Much better, and I think the IQ is comparable after doing a quick review of the screens. I updated the gallery with the bench score as well as serial shots from another run with SMAA.

I'll give this a try with my dual 7970s at 1225mhz and 1440p. Looks like a pretty and fun game.

I really hate these checkpoint based games. Why they can't incorporate a proper "save" option is beyond me.

Might just try FXAA and see if it helps the visuals. It can't possibly produce more blur than the already blurry image created by the games bokeh, Depth of field, bloom, HDR blur and lighting effects.

Has anybody tried at these settings?

1440p Ultra no MSAA no FXAA no AA of any sort.

    With a 7970 GHz and 2700k/3770k OC?

What kind of avg FPS did you get?

I didn't know this was coming out so soon. I might think about picking this up. I like how the crowds are really dense and the NPC's aren't totaly low poly models.
