In the name of Christianity, eight doctors and some of their staff brutally murdered for providing abortion services and other essential health services for women seems rather "radical" to me. And I'm not defending the murdered doctors and staffers or the services they provided either. All I'm doing is pointing out a glitch in your reasoning.

I fully support (and in some cases encourage) abortion, and find what those radical Christians did to be reprehensible and horrible.
But I will say at least this for them... they did target people who logically were connected with their beef. They didn't like abortion, they killed people providing abortion services.
The Muslims didn't like a cartoon or a movie? They kill the first white person they can find. Or first American they can find.
That's slightly different, don't you think?
Another key difference is that you can't reliably drum up a mob of random Christians for much of anything in the US... or Europe... or pretty much anywhere anymore. You can't just start down the street with a megaphone and count on natural momentum to net you a large lynching party within the space of a few blocks like you can in the Muslim world.

There is a fundamentally different mindset, zeitgeist, and solidarity at play within much of the Muslim world. Equivalence not found.
Near as I can tell, the only reason that good white Christians aren't lynching blacks any more is a strong rule of law, something that's lacking in countries we helped destabilize.

As was ironically desired by both the film makers and behind the scenes extremist political puppet masters in Middles Eastern states (embassies are easy and cheap easy targets to rally their own sheep for domestic political gain -- as with both World Trade Center attacks, London underground bombing, Bali, and Madrid rail acts, the USA and others are not strategic targets, simply fodder for domestic political rallying cries), the xenophobia and whipped up irrational anger and fear against any Muslim is rising in Europe and the USA. AnandTech will find its reputation thoroughly soiled when and if a member associated here (as Anders Breivik was upon other forum sites) opts for their personal mission of terrorism.
Moderation would be best to tighten the reigns right now. Too much extremist speech against a singular target has found a home here and it frightfully mirrors much of Goebbels' inciting propaganda against German and the rest of European Jews.
Supplant Muslim for historical hate speech filled against blacks and Jews and we have direct parallels for whipping up supremacist and irrational fear.

Your analogy is rather poor also, because if there's a parallel to Nazism to be found here, it's in the tenets of Islam.
They are the ones who want to wipe out not only Jews, but conquer the whole world for their ideology.
Which makes those of us calling them out for what they actually say, actually believe, and actually do, in the face of those who would prefer to hide these facts because talking about them or being aware of them makes them uncomfortable... more analogous to those in Germany and elsewhere who stood up and spoke out against the Nazis. And you'd be more analogous to those who wanted to pretend there was no threat looming.
And listen, for me personally I do not hate Muslims. My first girlfriend was a Kuwaiti Muslim. There are a lot of fantastic people who are Muslim, who are Arab, who are both.
These people were once great contributors to science, math, and civilization. They can be again.
Unfortunately right now they are deeply, deeply infected by a very dangerous, anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-freedom ideology. And they are taking that ideology far more seriously than Christians and Jews (those two ideologies are also all those negative things Islam is, but the adherents rarely follow it closely anymore unlike Muslims)
The solution to this will be found with the first step of talking honestly about it. It will not be found somewhere in that sand you have your head buried in, nor will it be found by silencing opposing viewpoints or pretending there is no cultural conflict here.
Enjoy what is coming to you and your country. You deserve it for your lax immigration laws.

To be fair most true liberals would rather we be more isolationist. The idea that the Arab spring is Obama's baby though is rediculous. Democracy in the middle east has been a goal of our foriegn policy for decades.
christians didn't invent winter holidays. They just adapted previous holidays to fit into theirs. It really isn't "attacking" christians, its just recognizing that they don't own winter holidays.
