its to bad israel doesnt have an SSBN or two. Although from what I understand, they do have a few dolphin class subs. Not sure if those kinds of subs can be equiped with SLBM nukes though. Perhaps someone with knowledge on the subject here can tell us.

I do believe the subs that Israel has carry nuclear tipped missles.

From what ive read since I last posted, it does seem those class of subs can cdeliver nuclear tipped missles. im glad Israel has that kind of second strike capability. Her enemies most likely know about thet as well, which im sure would give them at least a little peause before crossing a line they can never go back on.

If you acknowledge that Israel has that kind of power, then it should be obvious by the fact they haven't used it that they are showing restraint because if Israel was lobbing rockets into Iran like the Palestinians were into Israel I highly doubt the Iranians would twiddle their thumbs and try to organize peace talks.

I was reading about El Alamein the other day. During one of the English's reversals the Special Interrogation Group was stood down and sent into Palestine because as persons whose ethnic and/or religious histories were anathema to the Nazis they faced torture and/or extermination. All except the Jews, that is. The Jews were forced to stay in Cyrenaica because of the stringent laws against Jews emigrating into Palestine, even though they had served behind Axis lines doing some of the most dangerous missions possible (and often in enemy uniform, which means summary execution is perfectly legal under the laws of war.) Even though the Jews of the SIG were almost all FROM the Palestinian mandate. The Arabs of the SIG and other special forces irregulars were allowed to go into Palestine - even those recruited from other places.

Point is, whatever the Israelis have, they EARNED, and they retain it only because the Palestinians have never been strong enough to take it away. Whatever the Palestinians have, it's because the Israelis have not used the myriad provocations as an excuse to take it away, even though they have the strength. If the Palestinians laid down their arms and embraced peace, there would be peace tomorrow. If the Israelis laid down their arms, the land would be poisoned with Jewish blood. There is simply no moral comparison.

I think Israel should come out and tell the Palestinians they have 6 months to come to the tables and work out an agreement. In these 6 months Israel will not build any further settlements and previously built settlements will be dealt with as part of the negotiations.

Also Hamas did break the ceasefire in 2008.

Israel does not need to commit genocide.

They will not do it because of the exact reason you pointed out - history.
However, the Hamas is not bound by such history.

Actions by the Palestinians and/or lack of them will not stop Israel from continuing to absorb territory on the West Bank.

The Palestinians have their destiny in their hands - but seem to be unable to do anything with it by choice.

Hezbollah at least has tried to work and setup a government. Now time will tell how well they succeed.

Israel isn't anything in history. It's a man-made state after World War II.

fantastic place with a lovely energy. I was lucky to spend a few summers there studying music. Some cities are imbued with a natural glow and Tel-Aviv is one..

Jeruselm was the same way - one religion city until Jordan ceded the West Bank to Israel.

Territory is available; not controlled by another country - already bought and paid for by Israeli blood multiple times.

Religious inference is that they should expand into the West Bank as much as possible
1) To help with the trip wire/defense of Israel
2) To expand the settled border of Israel
3) To piss off the Arabs that tried to destroy Israel (payback)
