Hmm, I thought Mr. Sulu was supposed to be some wicked ancient samurai warrior. Why was he standing there like a block of wood with that guy gradually bearing down on him?

no sword. Samurai <> hand to hand expert.

The real life Sulu is a hand job expert.

I would so save that town with Hiro's power to get the Swordsmith's daughter.

One or the other. Either way, the stories Hiro read that inspired him to be a hero will be a result of him being a hero because he read those stories!

At least should be quick on his feet to move. Didn't even go out fighting, how disappointing.

I hope season 2 doesn't suffer from the sophomore jinx.

As far as the season 1 ending I saw it coming from a mile away, which sucked because the writers threw so many unexpected curves into the shows during the season. A few of the shows I sat there riveted and at the end thought to myself, "Damn, that's one of the best episodes of any show I've ever seen." I was hoping the ending would be no different and it was a bit of a let down. Still, I won't let the ending ruin my overall opinion. All in all it's, imo, one of the best shows on TV right now.

I do have to wonder if the Petrelli's actually bit it though? What if the blast was Peter finally controlling the power at the last second and letting it go in a burst of energy? Maybe we'll see one or both of them again?

Anyway, I'm so looking forward to season 2. Hope it's as great as season 1.

Just to make it a fair playing field, tell us your ending to season 2 now so we know what to expect.

Sure. There will be a cliffhanger that leads into season 3. 😛

So, new superpowers:
metallurgist
Or alchemist?
Could be just a basic "Midas Touch" power that only affects metals. Though I do hope that the ability is something more substantial like being able to change elements.

I was thinking more like the Phoenix. Reborn from the ashes of his own destruction.

My main question is how did he end up in a container.
There's nothing unusual about Peter in a box.

Also anyone know who the '9' are. Apparently one could be Sylar, but being they hid his face and gave him the Sylar trademark hoodie; I am thinking that was a red herring.

It's unlikely one could be Sylar since he just discovered his abilities relatively recently and the "9" are the remnants of heroes who originally formed The Company. It could be that later in the series Hiro takes Sylar back in the past to make it possible but that seems too obvious a plot line. Possibly the hooded one is a character that has already been introduced but who nobody suspects to have special powers. Maybe somebody like Noah's wife?

Ok...I did not read through the thread but I have a theory about Peter.

When Peter exploded he created 3 parts of himself.
1. The first one took on Nathan's Identity and is the Evil Nathan in the future. The original one is dead. Killed in the explosion. A part of Peter wanted Nathan to live so he does.
2. Claire's Peter. Time traveled back and grew up in CA and subconsciously knows her.
3. Peter in the Box. Adult Peter that will face the Evil Nathan and will have a scar on his face.

Very good theory.

An alternate one:

1) Nathan is still the original Nathan but was injured in the blast and Peter fixed him. (Might explain his vision in the mirror at the bar?)
2) Claire's flying boy is the real Peter.
3) The Peter in the box (that just doesn't sound right 😛 ) is actually Sylar.

Please no. I've enjoyed this show because it hasn't introduced unnecessary complexity for the sake of edginess (too much - we can all poke holes in the logic of anything regarding time travel, but I don't think they've abused that yet).

Now this is a very good, if predictable theory.

The real life Sulu is a hand job expert.

So how was that happy ending for you? 🙂

The twins are rumored/reported to be a disease / cure combination. She constantly emits a deadly virus and he constantly emits the cure.

cut to scene at the end with alejandro and maya:

M-M-M-MONSTER KILL...KILL...kill...

when i saw the guy change the spoon to gold i though "alchemist"

and maybe flying-stalker boy figured claire was "special" since he saw her trying to burn her hand.

Good point. Unnecessary complexity would cause the plot to seem forced.

It would be nice if they made it complex enough so that Claire had to run around in a thong for the rest of the season though. Wouldn't mind that complexity at all.

So Hiro finally gets to nail a hot chick? Cool
If he's blood related, then he can be his own ancestor...

The twins are rumored/reported to be a disease / cure combination. She constantly emits a deadly virus and he constantly emits the cure.

Seems like an obvious guess. For one he balked at being separated from his sister although you'd think her sitting up front shouldn't be too away from him.

Sulu's bloody landing from such a great falling distance makes it unlikely he survived but it feels more like he's having a near death experience.

blah, that was a little disappointing. I was hoping more would happen... and not so scattered. I guess they had to do a summary episode to place them for the rest of the season.

I thought this episode kinda sucked, not much really happened. I bet Maya is going to be the new Nikki but I hope not. The last few minutes were awesome though.

I agree. The Maya character is already putting me to sleep. At least she doesn't also have an annoying whining little kid. I thought the episode was ok but parts felt forced.

Also, it's been months but I thought I remembered Matt Parkman's ex-wife being pregnant. If so, are the writers just going to ignore that and pretend it never happened? The teacher who was talking to Parkman about Molly and his issues affecting her never mentioned the baby.

Interesting. I thought it was possible that his sister has the same disease that (wtf was that guy's name? the guy in NY plotting to overthrow "the company") <that guy>'s sister had, and thus they need to go see him for a cure.

but i suppose your explanation is much more logical.

If you want to learn about the girl that kills witht he wierd eye thing, go get the latest comic from the heroes web site. It tells you what her power is.
