Herman Cain accused by SEVERAL women of inappropriate behavior

“These are old and tired allegations that never stood up to the facts,” Gordon wrote in an email response. “This was settled amicably among all parties many years ago, and dredging this up now is merely part of a smear campaign meant to discredit a true patriot who is shaking up the political status quo.”

Gordon added: “Since critics haven’t had much luck in attacking Mr. Cain’s ideas, they are trying to attack him personally.”

These incidents include conversations allegedly filled with innuendo or personal questions of a sexually suggestive nature, taking place at hotels during conferences, at other officially sanctioned restaurant association events and at the association’s offices. There were also descriptions of physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable and that they regarded as improper in a professional relationship.

So basically he made a few questionable jokes at a conference and a few women lawyered up to make a quick buck. This will only make him stronger with the tea party if this is all it was. He will be seen as victim of the main stream media to most conservatives. Now if more comes out where he came on to the women or touched them then he is likely done.

Back on Topic though wouldn't these potential accusations if they prove to be true since he doesn't seem to want to address these issue put an extra Twist in G-Strings of the Social Conservatives in the Republican party??

I think the Governor of Kennedy, Kerry, and Romneycare has much more to answer for. No good Republican comes from the state of Massachusetts.

Actually if you read the full article, there is an allegation that he came on to one woman and invited her up to his hotel room. I have no idea of the veracity of any of these allegations and have no skin in this game. I'm just pointing out what the article says in case people aren't reading the whole thing.

again 20 years ago, and so what what if he ASKED a woman to go up to his hotel room. she said no and didnt go end of story.

from what i have read this is just a bullshit story. the man didnt do anything wrong or illegal.

I did not read it all but did the woman he allegedly pick up work for him? If that is the case then he is in serious trouble.

Another legal opinion from another of our resident legal scholars, I see.

I don't think we know all of the facts as yet. The article is protecting the identities of the accusers and being somewhat vague about the particulars of the allegations. However, I would point out that so long as the allegations remain vague, this story is not going to have any legs.

Personally I don't have much of an opinion about this yet other than it seems there were some harassment allegations made back in the 90's. I couldn't care less about the political implications. Democrats don't fear Cain winning the primaries anyway, and also I doubt this will affect Cain in the primary even if the allegations turn out to be well substantiated.

I agree the Devil is in the details and if he is going to be a potential POTUS he is going to go through a serious vetting process.
