There are a few good articles out there suggesting that these pardons are Trump signaling to Cohen and Manafort, amongst others, that he has their backs, so that they don’t flip for Mueller.

What do you think Trump’s reasoning was for pardoning a guy who was obviously guilty of felony campaign finance crimes, who had admitted as much, but had gotten off pretty easy?

I thought Trump was all about election integrity, lol.

Trump is the ugliness that you are forced to look at while you gnash your teeth about the injustice of it all, the end result of a two party corporate owned establishment political system that promoted profits before people, red carpet service to their benefactors while paying lip service to the middle class, the inevitable result of the lowest common denominator thinking in the race to the bottom while chasing the "profits only matter" prize.

Fix the economic/social conditions that allowed someone like Trump to become president, or ignore them and blame all your ills on trump without doing anything about the underlying socioeconomic factors and risk having even someone worse next time.

For sake of discussion , what would you say if Trump started to pardon people like Flynn and others in legal jeopardy?

Watch maddow on YouTube about Haldeman and Nixon's pardon talk. The part near the end about a tape not released for years is very relevant.

There’s little evidence that economic anxiety led to Trump’s election. The evidence mostly points to racial resentment and a perceived loss of status. The average Trump voter made more money than the average Clinton voter, after all.

People, conservatives in particular, keep trying to push the ‘economic problems’ reason for Trump because the reality is much uglier. They don’t want to admit just how disgusting the views of the average Trump voter are.
