FOr you guys saying that his parents need to talk to him before they turn him in. I agree - but I believe in this case this little prick has been talked too many times by his parents. Honestly, I believe they are using their last resort.
My 17 year old sister got messed up on extacy when she was 15, and when my parents found out they sat down an talked to her about it then punished her and it seemed that she had stopped using it. Later on, when she was 16, we fond out that she was on crystal meth, and again they talked with her and told her that they would not support her using drugs, etc, and they started drug testing her weekly. At that time, she started behaiving very irrationally, going in rages, etc. She then ran away from home over the summer, and we did not see her until late september.
NOw, mind you, my sister is not a small girl. She is built like Laura Croft, she was on the girls weightlifting team at her high school, etc. Before she ran away, she got in a fight with 3 different girls, and kicked their asses. She was expelled from school due to one of those incidents also.
Anyway, when she came back, she seemed notably calmer, and moved back in. After getting in an arguement with my stepfather and father, instead of verbally arguing, she started to fight, She punched 7 holes in out walls, messed both of her hands up by hitting studs, etc. My parents had her arrested, then had her put in mental behavior facility. They ran all kinds of mental tests, and they did one of those brain scans and we were shocked. If you have ever seen one of those scans where a drug user brain has holes all in it, that's what it looked like. They told us that all of her bahavior was brought on by drug use, and she had been permanently changed due to it.
It's been almost year since she moved back in in, and after many hours with an anger managment therapist, and psychologists, she had made a complete change for the better. She no longer uses drugs, but she did get pregnant right before we turned her in, but thankfully her baby has not been effected by the drugs (as far as the doctors can tell). She's due any day now, BTW.
Anyway, sorry about the rambling, but I can honestly tell you that if we had not had her arrested, she would probably be dead by now. It's because we took that action that she is where she is today.
