The box has 16 gb of DDR3 and apparently can support up to an FX-8370. The cpu in this currently is a Phenom X2-555
How about this situation would it make sense to swap the CPU out or should I also do a complete rebuild?
I wouldn't bother, the amount you gain is just not worth it.
he is running a PII X2.... if a cheap FX 6300 can be found, I think that would be a decent upgrade and the MB can probably handle.
