I just did the default install On my 1800 It did 10 candidates and 3 wus in about 12 hours is that good?
I don't know what good times are for the tsc program
It seems to run better on ddr systems with 256 megs of ram

What I'm talking about is I had both SETI and the TSC GUI? running at the same time.

I'm running WinXP so I went to the Windows Task Manager and looked in the PROCESSES tab. Seti was using 97 - 98 percent of the CPU and the TSC client show 0 - 1 - 2 percent and was making very minimal progress. My SetiDriver was set to LOW PRIORITY. Didn't see any adjustment on the TSC priority interface?

I'm running xp also I didn't check the taskmanager but I did shut down everything I could find to shut down on the tsc program and it still process the data and My seti is set to low also.I don't know how fast it usually processes but it seems to be moving alright on my 1800 with 256 megs ddr 2100 not as fast on the other two I have it on but the have slower processers and less ram .

From what I read, this is a project where Linux rules and Athlon XPs are the kings of processing. P4s not suprisingly don't fare too well.

Here is how I got TSC to play nice with SETI. I started TSC first and then SETI. The other way around and seti doesn't give up and cpu cycles.

OK, I'll try that and see how it goes. ;)

Thanks ReaganCRW, that worked. :)

SETI is now running in the low sixties and TSC in the low thirties. I'll let it run like that a bit and see the results.

Sharpstick maybe you should pm the mod and ask that tsc be included in the recruiting thread .

HiYa

You snagged another one!

Right now, I'm running TSC on one comp and UD on the other.

Thanks for the Thread.

PS: Can I add a vote for including this in the AT DC recruiting threads?

It appears from my end that there is something wrong with the stats and/or client...one of my machines can't get any work to process, and the stats have stayed the same for at least two days, even though the machines are processing. Clients match the web stats, but both are two days (at least) old...?? Its not a browser cache problem, either.

Some info on the site forum, but sketchy. Will work be credited? I don't care as much about the stats as I do the work...is it usable?

Anyone else see this?

Fixing the stats would be good. My fastest machine does not seem to be able to process any work. One of my other machines seems to be processing, but both show less work units completed than were done 3 days ago.

I will pull my resources off this project for now, and wait until the stats are fixed and see if any of the last three day's work was credited.

Lets give them some time guys. Any new project is going to have their bugs to work out.
Look at all the problems seti has had in the past.

It did seem like the stats thingy took a long time to record my addition to the team and show my stats, but I just checked it and they are right now.

Hope the same holds true for the rest of you. If not, I second the motion for giving them a day or two before giving up.
