Hehe, would you pay $42,000 for a 2003 Buick Park Avenue Ultra?

You can get a brand new Lexus GS300 with options for 42k. Why in the world would you want a Buick😕

Most older males won't buy any non-American car. Something about a war or something.

I'd start a new thread asking why cars are so expensive nowadays, but I promised to refrain from making new threads for another day and a half 😉

No, but then I would never pay the MSRP sticker price on any vehicle, either.

I do like the Park Avenue Ultra, however. If I were in the market for that class of vehicle (full size luxury sedan) I would definitely consider it.

I resemble this statement. Why on earth would ANYONE buy a Buick? Or any GM car for that matter?
I would buy a Buick. I'm older than you young punks, so it would be an appropriate vehicle for me. I think this whole thread is getting blown out of proportion. You can't compare the Buick Park Avenue Ultra to a $40+K Lexus. It's apples to oranges. GM and your local Buick dealership will give tremendous discounts on the vehicle -- while the Lexus will sell much closer to the MSRP. As an example, I'm seeing new Buick LeSabres listed in the paper for $20K and the MSRP on them is high-$29K. Clearly, the Park Avenue Ultra would sell for the mid-30s or maybe even a bit lower.

I'd rather have a Buick Park Avenue Ultra in my driveway than a $42K Ford Expedition. :Q

They sell them for so low because no one will pay full price.

True dat. The only GM's that people will pay full price for are luxo SUV's and Corvettes. All the rest are discounted to hell.

Lexus will get my 40K

they have excellent customer service, their cars have proven themselves to be Ultra Reliable.
They are classy, much more so than the Buick and Lexus doesn't give off the "i'm an old bag" persona

I was at Reedman Auto and they offered me a $38K list Aurora 2002 model, FULLY loaded for $25k w/ another $2k (after paying off balance of loan) to come off from my trade in ('98 intrigue). It was a pretty sweet offer, but i wasn't looking to pay over $500 / month for a car.

sweet car tho.

Yeah, no way there's room in the world for different tastes.

Ve are confiskating your Buick old man. You vill buy ze Lexus, und you vill like it!

I doubt I would pay >$40k for any car. Not when (1) cars are a terrible "investment" and (2) there are so many excellent cars available for less.
