Hehe, would you pay $42,000 for a 2003 Buick Park Avenue Ultra?

If one really wanted a Buick, there are 1-year-old LeSabres going for $12 - $13K (at the most.) Personally, if I was looking for such a vehicle, I'd buy it off of E-Bay. There are lots of sellers selling Florida-based vehicles at some great prices. Shipping would run about $600, but you would get a vehicle that was owned by some old person and the vehicle would have very low mileage on it and since it was in Florida, no salt damage to the vehicle.

On the contrary, if it were near to any of Florida's coastal areas, aerosolized salt can be as bad or worse than road salt.

I can't never understand why MOST American cars are so damm ugly.
Its sad when the only mainstream American I'll consider buying right now is the Mustang.

Smoking crack? That's sounds like an understatement...

I'd buy a Caddy or Lincoln for less and get the same kind of pillowy big long distance cruiser. Yeah, Toyota makes good cars... I'd pick the Nissan (Infiniti) though just to be different.

It's a great car, but I like the Cad DeVille can be had for 5 to 10 thousand more. I think it's much nicer and has the Northstar engine. I drove both and bought the Caddy.

Yeah, but a $23,000 VW Jetta has a better interior than a $42,000 Buick and VW's look a hella lot better than Buicks.

Wasn't everyone saying the same thing, though, with the VW Passat W8?

You have GOT to be kidding me. I know everyone has different tastes, but surely there is such a thing as absolute value. This car lacks it, plain and simple, and there is simply NO EFFIN' WAY that this car is worth $42K. Even within GM itself, the Olds Aurora is $5K cheaper, has a V-8, and is far more attractive.

What the hell is wrong with that site? Looks like the damn thing is highlighted. Webmaster must be employed by GM. Silly!

Cheers!

I am sure people who are considering buying the Park Avenue would not even look at the Jetta.
We are talking about retirees who like big living rooms on wheels, not teenage girls.

Phew...that went RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT over your head.

The point of the comment was that VW's $23,000 ENTRY LEVEL car has a better interior than the $42,000 Buick. Hell, the Buick STILL has FAKE PLASTIC WOOD!!! That my be acceptable at a $20,000 price point, but at $42,000 it's downright CHEAP!

The average demographic for Buick buyer is 62, male, and <75K annual income and you're asking a bunch of young mostly jobless geeks if they'd buy one? No I'd buy a Mercedes E320 for the same price but not near the comfort because I still have gaps between my vertebra and can handle a stiffer ride. But If I fit into that catagory I can see the appeal.

Most of the people in the market for a Park Avenue can't tell their kids apart from their grandkids, much less real wood from fake one. They'll buy a car for comfort, and I am sure Park Avenue has plenty of it.
It's going to sell for less than the MSRP, and with nice financing to boot. Not that it matters. It's probably the last car they buy. It's not like they are going to take the money with them when they die.

Too bad Buick's windows actually work and their coil packs don't fail and their cheap interior doesn't rattle. Those traits would make it a VW. 😀 VW has high quality interior materials for sure, too bad they don't stay together.

Anyway, I'm sure that Buick will cost half its value in two years. Over here, Buicks have crazy bad resale value. You can find 2000 Park Avenues for a price of a 2000 Corolla!

I know it is a very comfortable car to drive but $42k is too much. Sorry guys but I kind of like it.
On the other hand, If I like to buy a big US cruiser I'd choose a caddy just for the hell of it.

<--- Drives a big boat and likes it.
