some people have even tried their 8gigers and it worked.
there is no confirmed rule, just a guideline. My particular 30gig has been tested and working
by others so should be fine.

Finally may have solved my issue of hanging during format and hanging at the splash screen. Someone recommended ejecting the HDloader disc at the splash screen and then inserting it again and it seems to have solved my problem. Trying to install a game right now.

I got hdloader this past friday and I had all weekend to mess around with it. It works great. I have 12 games so far on my 60 gb maxtor, and I'm planning on getting a 120 gb drive so I can store more games since now I know how well it works.

One question though to the other people that have it. Do games that use the hard drive like socom II and other games still work if you turn on that option? Or do you need the official sony drive in order for the caching to work?

Will a 200GB WD drive work with this? It's the only spare I got laying around.

WD drives are said to not be compatible with the network adapter connections. You can use a 200 GB drive though... it'll only recognize the first 127 GB.
