Nobody claims it will "go away.". Has influenza gone away?

And yet I've never seen you address or even offer a solution for what to do about surges that essentially cripple the healthcare system in this country, or healthcare provider burnout. Honestly those are probably the two biggest issues at this point.
But but but I want to get my haircut!!!! Stupid selfish people that don’t take precautions when coming back from trips. Stupid selfish people not getting boosted because they rather wait for strain specific booster. As for the antivax and anti mask, let them Darwin themselves.

I swore I wasn't going to wear my hair long anymore, since it signifies nothing about a person as it sort of used to. Now, I have quite the ponytail. Haven't been to a barber since late Jan. 2020.

There is not much we can really do at this point. CDC guidelines were issued not because 5 days of quarantine is enough but because that is probably the minimum many people will be willing to accept. The alternative is public ignoring quarantine all together which already is happening or society shuts down because no one can work. The days of business closing, stay at home orders etc are gone. Mandate for health care workers and employers with over 100 employees currently at SCOTUS with hearing on the 7th with likelihood to be permanently blocked. Between half of the country to 3/4 do not currently have any mask mandate. I am in California and while we do have mask mandate from the state, the areas that dropped their mask mandate over the summer got very low compliance. I have yet to be asked for proof of vaccination despite that being the law on most business in the city of LA. Many people looking for solution and there is none at least the ones that politically will be acceptable.

Uhh.... we've found that solution, it's the vaccine and booster. It stops people from flooding the hospital and turns covid into a bad cold. Too bad people like you fuck it up for the rest of us.

This is a major reason we are are moving out of central TX next year. I'm really sensitive and basically a prisoner in the house surrounded by HEPA filters for 2-3 months a year. Usually get a sinus infection even with drugs. Not allergic to anything else.

So are you getting wrecked by this fucking shit right now? Ugh it's 25,000 grains per cubic meter here today with the wind blowing in from the opposite direction of all the juniper ashe trees (eg coming from the gulf right now). Can't wait to see what it's like when we have a big cold front coming tomorrow night with 20 mph winds from the NW, eg the Hill Country, which is loaded with these piece of shit nuisance trees. My throat feels like I have been gargling razor blades. Mountain cedar is almost always only really high out here when we have a NW wind and yet today we're near peak pollen counts with a SE wind (and we have had a SE wind for like a week now).

Omicron might be the saving grace… I’ve read a number of reports now about its less severe run on the body and the most significant is that it seems to stay out of the lungs…

You know what that means? There is an end to this nightmare.. give it another year, let immunity build up, get the shots, and the run on hospitals will dwindle… When we get covid we’ll be able to treat it at home with some pills.

Last fucking stretch boys. 2022 for the win!

Majority will have it in the next 2 months or so being how fast it's moving. We should all be completely immune by spring.

We can hope unless it leads to a strain that combines it's traits with those of the Delta strain, which will be a strain deadlier than any strain so far. Specially to the anti vaxx idiots.

Tell that to my lungs…

Had severe Covid in Jan 2021.
Moderna shot in Feb, March, and Dec
Tested positive for Covid Omicron today. Symptoms where headache, fatigue and my lungs feel like I have mild pneumonia. Thankfully everything is mild this time around.

mortally went in expecting to be diagnosed with walking pneumonia. Came out with a postive Covid test and now have to be placed on leave for 10 calendar days. Paid but annoying.

The media is talking about testing and testing kits and everybody having a kit or access to a test or to a kit. And the government is paying for the test kits, or I think Biden said that was the case?
But.... what I would like to see furnished to people, and for FREE, are really good effective face masks. I would like to see every American having access to a highly protective face mask, and for FREE. Shipped and sent out to every American just like those stimulus checks were sent out to most every American. Now we need masks. Good masks.

And... the government SHOULD BE inventing/manufacturing/designing a NEW series of face masks to be made available for all Americans and for FREE. A new type of face mask close to or as effective as the N95 mask, but with a less intrusive design. Something inspired and totally new. Something like a light-weight, foldable/bendable face mask. Something that looks nice yet very protective, and not making people look like hazmat refugees.
Why could not Joe Biden use that Defense Production Act (DPA) to mass-produce face masks and making them available to everyone. Just ship them out in the mail for free.

And another suggestion for the media concerning vaccinations, STOP SHOWING NEEDLES IN THE ARM. This is still happening all the time and it really pisses me off. Every time the news talks about anything covid or anything vaccine they always show needles going into arms. WE DON'T NEED TO SEE THIS. Everyone knows how a vaccine is administered, and no one wants to see arms poked with scary needles especially those really long needles that the media always seems to show. I swear they photoshop those needles into three times their length.

If the media would PLEASE STOP showing needles every time covid or vaccines are brought up in the news then maybe more people would get vaccinated. Maybe we could convince 20 or 30 % more of the unvaccinated to get vaccinated if TV would just stop showing those needles. I know that a lot of people refuse to vaccinate simply because THEY HATE NEEDLES, so why remind people of the needle at all? Focus on the vaccine itself and the benefits of the vaccine, and forget about showing the damn needles. PLEASE!!!!!

Had my Moderna booster today after Pfizer for the first two.
Three hours ago and everything is good.

Same here except I’ve only had Moderna. People I’ve talked to said the booster hit them at the 24 hour mark, so we’ll see how it goes. My reaction to the second shot was mild so hopefully this one is even weaker.

I haven't been to a barber in over 30 years. I let everything grow over winter and buzz it all off the rest of the year. Mustache gets trimmed all year to avoid chewing on it and beard gets chopped to a few inches in summer.

We have a vax mandate at work, and a small portion elected to get an accommodation instead.

They thought they would be clever and avoid the vax, but have to get tested weekly, must wear masks at all times, and are now getting hammered with the virus anyway.

Omicron is so infectious many people are falling ill, however most are mild cases amongst the vaccinated and even boosted. Mostly a labor disruption at this point tho.

Only severe cases are a few ppl with the accommodations. Lol.

If you are vaxxed, testing is not required, and masks are optional when rates are low. Us vaccinated will go back to normal once the outbreak recedes, and the accommodated will still be stuck in masks and routine testing.

So much trouble to avoid the needle

Waaaaaaaaait for it.....
Why, you saying Moderna has more side effects than Pfizer?
Both Pfizers didn't do zilch except for a sore arm for a day or less.

Almost 12 hours and nothing. Arm isn't sore but I can feel where they injected me.

Nah, would not have the stats to back such a statement up, it just took half a day to hit me thats all.
Seems like you're good.
Incidentally, do you "get sick" when carrying a fever?
