Yup I blacked out for parts of a night in college after drinking a bottle of Absolut Citron... I ended up giving a kid a black eye, dislocated another's shoulder by throwing him into a door jamb, and finally all 4 of them jumped on me and had to use duct tape to contain me. Apparently my one friend started talking sht, I just yelled "BRING IT ON, I'LL KNOCK U ALL OUT!" and that's when the rumble began. I had a nasty rug burn on my forehead from being slammed onto the carpet... not a fun night to say the least lol

Edit: oh almost forgot, my one friend apparently was kicking me while on the ground, so I got even more pissed and was yelling "I'LL KILL YOU LIKE A COW! I'm GOING TO SLAUGHTER YOU LIKE A COW!!!" Of course I never remembered any of this...

Yes I have experienced that before and after I did I vowed never to drink to that point again. It is not a good feeling at all to not know what happened and how you got where you did.

I didn't believe in them until it happened to me. I too vowed off drinking for about a year. And it happened at my fraternity pledge initiation, so it was difficult to not drink as a member of a drinking fraternity. I made up a story about a bad liver, to avoid any pressure.

My "daddy" (a senior who is assigned a pledge) bought be a fifth of tequila, which I had to drink at the frat house beofre going out. Also before going out, we had beer drinking contests. Then we went to the bars, and everyone buys you shots. I had shots of every liquor imaginable.

The last thing I remember was being in the bar. The next morning, I woke up in my bed, and felt pretty good. It took me a while to figure out where I was and what day it was. It's weird to wake up, and have no recollection of going to bed. I didn't know if it was a school day or what. I had to pee real bad, and when I got to the bathroom, I noticed my face was covered in marker. My friends told me about the whole ordeal back at the dorm.

Apparently, I got back to the dorm, and ran up and down the hall banging on everyone's door, at 2 or 3am. Then the RA asked me to go back in my room, and I tried to pick a fight with him. Which is totally NOT my personality, which really freaked me out. Then they said they put me to bed, and I vomited and vomited. (Again, no recollection) They said it was black, which I assumed was Jagermeister. One guy from the room next door said he stayed with me most of the night to make sure I didn't lay on my back and drown on my vomit.

I haven't been that drunk since. Every once in a while I'll have a few beers and get a buzz going, but that night scared me to death of drinking over my limit. It's a scary experience that you never want to repeat.

I never ever drink to get drunk. Rarely do I even drink to where I get a buzz, and if I do, then I stop.

I only drink beer for the taste, especially lagers. I usually don't finish one. But I also like mixed drinks, especially Amaretto Sour, I can have about 5 mixed drinks before I notice it's effect. Again I only drink them for taste - a mild amount of alcohol is refreshing.

Yeah I have, and it really bothered me. It happens for me when I drink a lot quickly and not by sheer quantity. I've woken up with bruises, acted like an ass, said stupid things, etc. No more for me. Not worth it in the slightest.

Ha. Puking is funny. Disgusting, but still funny.

I haven't read the thread, just the first post.

Yes, I've blacked out. Used to happen to me a LOT when I first started drinking, now it only happens if I get REALLY wasted. I mean, more wasted than anyone ever should get. Gotta love college binge drinking. Last time it happened to me was two saturdays ago...I don't remember much past 12. After that time, my memory gets very hazy, like if you remind me of something that happened, I'll be like 'oh yea...' but theres no way I'd bring it up on my own, and it gradually gets worse, eventually I just don't remember a DAMN thing.

Sure, you can have sex while blacked out. I've never done it, but its possible. Alcohol does slowly impotentitize a guy, but if you are the kind of guy that gets it up VERY easily and never has a problem with that kind of thing, theres a good chance you'll still be able to perform while wasted.

You forget things because alcohol inhibits your memory. Alcohol gets in the synapse in your nerve cells, blocking any impulses from getting through. The first thing thats affected is your coordination and fine motor skills, eventually it moves on to your memory.

Yes it has happened to me quite a few times. it usually only happens when I take shots, so I try to stick with mixed drinks (i hate beer). But when I get a few mixed drinks in me, and I have people offering me shots, and my judgement isn't hte best, I sometimes take the shots and have blackouts that night.

when I have a 'blackout' as you would say, it is not that i cannot remember anything. it is more along the lines that when I try to remember the next day, it is like when you try to remember your dream from the last night. i remember clips of the night, and if people remind me of things that happened and I saw, I will recall em. but as the day gets more and more on, the memories of last night fade away more and more, just like a dream.

i never intentionally try to get this way, because yea it kinda sucks not remembering things. i have probably done this like 3 times in the past year total, usually I try to get the point I feel nice just using mixed drinks. but at ceremonies (like graduations, weddings, birthdays) where people are constantly taking shots for the occassion, I tend to take shots. I don't always forget when taking shots, but in order for me to forget i always have to have a few shots.

If I got drunk enough to black out.....I certainly don't remember it.

My fiancee forgets stuff when she gets drunk. And it's nuts because you can never predict what she will remember. The first time she said "I love you" to me, we were both blitzed (any Penn Staters reading? We went to the Saloon and each drank a pitcher of that MonkeyBoy stuff first and foremost. I think those are supposed to be 2-man jobs if you are from out of town!) So she was three sheets to the wind and is like "I love you, I love you. You're so wonderful" But I thought it was just b/c I was being the good boyfriend and taking care of her in her drunken state.
The next night she's like "You know, I meant what I said last night...."

Another time, prior to this, she was drinking at a party and pretty well bombed. I was driving us home and we had a fairly deep conversation about how she wasn't sure she wanted to be in a "serious" relationship for the past few years.

When I asked her the next day if that meant she didn't want to be in a serious relationship with me, she had no recollection of the conversation!!!

I like to drink, and I drink a lot. I've been binge drinking for over eight years now. I typically consume 20+ drinks when I go out. At my peak, it was not uncommon to drink 35+ drinks in an evening, and we were going out three nights a week.

On a few occasions I've drank to the point where my body simply stopped functioning and I passed out. I've passed out sitting in bars, at home upon returing from bars, and I've even passed out standing upright in a shower. When I come to, I'm usually disorientated.

I routinely experience black outs.

For instance, on a given weekend I'll start drinking around 3pm. My friends will start to show up soon after, and by 7pm everyone will be at my house. By we leave for the bar at 10pm, I will be drunk. At this point my memory starts to get spotty. Within two hours, or about 12am, I will be completely inebriated. If I talk to you I might not remember. However, I never get to the point where I ramble or make no sense. I'm generally fluid and appear to be together, albeit intoxicated.

The next morning I will remember a few bits and pieces of my evening from 10pm on, but unless I am reminded, I may not recall at all. If someone recalls an instance or event, I begin to remember.

If I have annonymous sex there is an excellent chance I'll be sporting a big case of whiskey dick and I probably won't feel much. Most of the time I won't remember her name, or what the sex was like.

I would say I lose control, but then I can't remember, so it's impossible to say.

Of course I don't drink as much or as frequently as I used to, but I still go out every Saturday and I typically drink 20+ drinks. I still experience black outs. In fact, I was speaking with a few workmates about the weekend when they began to recall a story about me. I didn't initially remember their presence. It took a few moments to remember.

brigden, do you mind if I ask what the attraction is, if you can't remember what happened after your night of drinking? My god... 35 drinks in one night? Is that beer, shots, mixed drinks? :Q:Q:Q

dezign, it depends on what kind of a drunk you are. If you are like me, you won't do anything TOO retarded, you'll just be loud and generally pretty funny. I actually rather enjoy hearing the stories of my antics the next day. But, I'll admit, being slightly under the blackout level is much more fun.

Dezign, all I can tell you is that I love drinking and getting drunk, but only around a crowd of people, specifically at a party or a bar. I always start with beer, usually European or Canadian lager, then move to gin and tonic. I don't normally do shots as they taste like crap. I've been known to drink a bottle of vodka or gin before going out.

I know I abuse alcohol, but I never drink during the work week, I never crave a drink, and I don't have a hard time going without. I never drink alone.

I'm not an alcoholic, but I like to binge drink.

No, but my name is josh, and when I smoke heavily I will get up for something to drink and wake up on the floor a while later. Happened yesterday :) I woke up with a water dispeser on me, and my friends were all playing with my truck outside.

I have never blacked out.

I don't drink much, but I have been told that I am very tolerant. When I get drunk, I can feel my body being sluggish, but I can still think straight.

I remember everything

Yeah, black outs happen. Woke up sitting on the toilet once, I was amazed I didn't fall off for the 3 hours I was in there. And then there's the usual waking up and can't remember how I got home, or where my keys/car are. Fortunately I've never woken up sans pants, sucks to have sex and not remember whether it was good or not. One time the night got started with 5 car bombs in 10 min, my record for getting drunk fastest. Ended up having another 7 and some shots of whiskey. Somehow ended up with boxing gloves and losing a pushup contest, I woke up with a busted lip and ripped pants but according to everyone I'm a beast of a drunken boxer.
