Rollo is still hear among us... some say he is crusader and other say he is wreckage. Which ever new name he goes by now... he will always be in our memory. He wasn?t a NVIDIA employee like most people believe but he was associated to NVIDIA viral program which brought his downfall :frown: . He represented Nvidia like no one could do in our little anandtech forum.

i *did not* work to get him booted
he self-destructed here one night when he was especially irritated [i admit "provoking" him ... but he was a Master of Provoking, so no "foul" on my part] and with a little Scotch to 'fortify' him, i imagine - he ADMITTED he lied ... repeatedly .. a real *shocker* .. he could have "hung tough" and would STILL be here.
His *lie* ... deceit ... is what got him booted ... along with some insults to the Forum
sealed it for the Mods who didn't know what to "do with him" ... nvidia DOES advertise here, ya know. :lips:

and i *expect* if he asks the mods nicely enough ... and PROMISES to be *good* they will let him return - as Rollo with 'disclosure' ... eventually

Wow, pot and kettle come to mind. I seem to recall a certain someone saying such things about ATi's drivers. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, its a different story. Pretty funny.

Hmm, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but even I saw the posts about G80 drivers in this thread.

Honestly I dont even know whatthe big deal is.... No good drivers for Vista? So what? Screw Vista. Why would I want it if I'm perfectly fine with XP? Hell I dont even want it at all! It's like throwing away an old comfortable jacket to buy a new one just because your wife said so! But the old one feels so good and so right... lol
Those who must be on the bleeding edge have to deal with driver problems. That's the reality. I'm sure these people are NOT the majority. I'm sure that the people who bought Vista for the "right" reasons are happy with it, and do not complain. Those who torrented Vista and play around with it for fun are those who whine and cry on forums because the new "toy" did not live up to their expectations.
I always see the "perfectly fine with XP" argument for not going to Vista. Matter of fact is, we would all still be fine with Windows 95, heck, we might be perfectly fine without computers either (we might even be better than today) but the truth is we will always want something more advanced or better, Vista is better, you can be fine with XP but you could be better with Vista and Vista does really alleviate tons of issues XP has. If XP is the only OS you have ever used, sure its going to be the best because thats all you know but once you use Mac OS X and Linux you realize there is a lot of stuff that could be better with XP.
And I swear, if I ever heard one of these stupid lawsuits again, I'll completely lose faith in the US Law System (I already have almost completely), it is no wonder some people think citizens of the United States (why do they call themselves Americans?) are so dumb.
But I digress...

Your arguement is no good, because you cant compare win 95 to win xp.. XP is better by a mile. vista is not much better than XP. XP is actually NECESSARY for an average user as opposed to Vista. Win 95/98 is no longer updated nor supported by microsoft and most 3rd party manufacturers, it doesnt have the usability or capability of XP. vista on the other hand is not necessary at all because the support for it is actually worse than that of XP. There is not a single feature in Vista that is truly NECESSARY for an average user. All the visual stuff is junk, and the only really nice thing is superfetch which is not a necessity at all. Just something that can allow you to get more from your system - a power toy. Many will disagree, but if I get fast performance from my system with Win XP, why would I want anything faster unless I program or gfx design/movie encode? Again, we are talking about average ppl here, right? Because if we are not, I take back what I said.
As for the lawsuits... lol

Hell, I can sue you, and say something as ridiculous as "he caused mental stress to me by arguing my points in a wrong way". I can even win if I have enough money.
This is the idiocy of this country at it's best! It's the medical system and the law system. The crazy part is that even Russia is now adopting all the same stupid rules and regulations. See.. this is what happens when in a country, money stands above anything else... Above health, morals, people's lives, and virtues. But I'm geting carried away here. the difference is that Vista doesn't offer much over XP, at least at this point in time. there are some useful features, but really for most gamers/enthusiasts DX10 is the only "must have" feature, and it's not useful yet as no games support it.
Supreme Commander is likely going to be the first title to support it, and that's via a patch that's not going to be made available until mid to late March, AFTER MS releases a DX10 update for Vista.
OTOH, XP was worlds better than win9x.
