You seem to forget President Bush led this nation through a rough time after the 9/11 attacks.

It is not fair to say Bush had more executive orders when we had experienced the largest terrorist attack this nation had ever seen.

If you want to go in and remove all of the executive orders issued by Bush that were related to 9/11, then do that and lets discuss total nubmers.

Some say he blindedly led us to 9/11.

And he definitely lied to us americans and led us to an unnecessary war where 3000 + americans and 100000 ~ civilians died and for what?

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Has obama failed as a leader

Over the past few days there have been some news articles talking about how obama is set to use executive orders to bypass congress.

Why do we even have a congress if the president refuses to work together?

Part of being a team leader is to bring everyone together, and work through our differences to find common ground. With obama it seems there is no common ground. Either do as he says or he will start signing executive orders.

Good leaders do not make threats.

You blame the President, others blame the Republican controlled Congress.

Bottom line is he has pissed off Republicans so he has been 110% a success.

If Republicans were happy we would be in a lot worse shape than we are now.

Nobody seemed to be objecting at the time.

Its only in retrospect that people seem to have a problem.

Oh really?

Do you realize that the democrats are the ones who opposed the vast majority of civil rights laws passed since the civil war?

Democrats opposed freeing the slaves.
George Wallace, Democrat - opposed racial integration
Franklin D. Roosevelt, democrat - detained thousands of Japanese - Americans in camps.

The only democrat that has truly supported equality was Lyndon B. Johnson.

As usual, any thread remotely disparaging Dear Leader will eventually be about Bush.

Of course!

Nothing is Obama's fault, even though he said "the buck stops here". Then he blames the redumblicans. When he can't blame them, he blames Bush. When he can't blame Bush, he blames the rich.

Nothing is Obama's fault. He's so dreamy

Ok sorry then you must have been living in a box then

And where is anyone blaming bush for obama's failure here, please elaborate?

It only took 7 post for someone to mention President Bush.

This thread is about obama. But for some reason people keep bringing up Bush.

The thread is about his use of executive orders and it was demonstrated that Obama has used less than many of his predecessors. Yet his use of them somehow makes him a dictator but not those that came before him.

G.W. and Obama are members of the same club;Don't think they're not.
the 3 worst presidents ever: Obama,Carter,George W. Bush

Only 2 of those have made tons of executive orders; The other just sucked.

This executive order madness has to stop.

I would have to put Taft as #1 for allowing the Sixteenth Amendment to be passed.

Woodrow Wilson as #2 for signing the income tax bill into law.

Franklin D. Roosevelt #3 for Executive Order 6102 and Executive Order 9066.

IMO it's not about the number of EO's, it's about the type of EO's. A President has a large administration, so seems to me there are many legitimate uses of EO's in the normal course of business. OTOH, rewriting legislation, particularly when it contravenes the original spirit of the law, with EO's instead of going back to Congress would seem inappropriate.

TBH I don't know who is a worse offender, Bush or Obama. I looked at the link listing Bush's EO's (just the first dozen or so) and they seemed mundane to me. Some were just repealing previous EO's. I'm guessing many of Obama's are similar.

How many times did Bush threaten to bypass congress?

This is not "just" about EOs, this is about a failed leader who is grasping at straws.

obama thinks he has the authority to bypass congress with EOs, which is going to come back and bite him in the ass.

No president should be acting this way. Whats next, is he going to throw himself on the floor and have a tantrum?
