Now that the recount efforts have effectively failed, I imagine the denial will continue until the State Electors meet and vote December 19. This is their last great hope...before effectively being forced to confront reality.

It'll be more interesting when Trump voters are forced to confront the reality of what they've done. That will take awhile & will likely involve a fair amount of pain for a lot of Americans, but it's the road we've taken.

Trump & the Repubs are now in charge. We'll see if they can blame Dems for the outcomes they induce w/o Obama & the Dems to point fingers at. They managed that astoundingly well in the collapse of the Ownership Society looting spree.

It's your show, guys. I'm just hoping it isn't too much a horror show.

I don't know what to 'hope' for. The official mantra from the "responsible" side of the house is to "wish for the best." "Let us hope that he is successful."

Personally, I would think that would be a bad lesson for history, a bad lesson for mankind, and a bad lesson for children and grandchildren. It would be a shadow over the whole world. Trump sets an example in reality that parallels the casino magnate Pope in a recent De Niro crime drama. Everything about him inside and out is rotten and rancid.

He could bring down the house on everyone. An alternate view would say that learning for the more challenged requires repetition. We had two terms of President Cornpone, and that was a disaster we survived.

De Niro deserved the Medal of Freedom recently bestowed. I wish I could have read Obama's mind about it, nevertheless.

Also, footnote to the OP. I see from your moniker where you call home. Do not take personally my remarks giving "T-Party" a better meaning. It's old history. I just can't find better words to use. And those cucumbers make great pickles.

I just see a good alternative use for them.

I have no illusions that Trump will be successful, that he'll deliver to his voters or the country. I just hope the scope of damage is less than the last time Repubs ran things. I'm probably fooling myself, too.

37 faithless electors would be the crowning glory to this election. Maybe if the DoJ hustles up with a Trump indictment over his tax fraud charity...

Now that would be funny. I saw a Washington Post op-ed suggesting Clinton turn her electoral college votes over to a different repub in an attempt to influence further EC votes to jump ship. I care a lot less about republican vs democrat in the presidency compared to absolute scumbag vs reasonable and respectable person.

As long as we don't get nuked this should be fucking hilarious!

Your perception of your own state of privilege may not be accurate at all. Taking glee in the misfortune of others has a way of coming back on you.

From John Donne-

No man is an Iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.

so much hurt and denial here. Still refighting the 2000 election 16 years later. Still cannot accept that a fair percentage of Obama voters turned to trump and do not understand why. And still pinning their hopes on corruption of our Constitution via the Electoral College. A hope doomed to failure. A vote that will confirm the election of Trump.

The Constitution explicitly provided the Electoral College to prevent someone like Trump from gaining the presidency. The EC choosing trump would be a corruption of our Constitution.

I agree they will probably pick Trump.

Kathryn Harris violated Florida law by stonewalling against having a recount.

She got away with it and so did the Supreme Court later — headed by Rehnquist who begged the public, when he retired, to ignore that astonishingly corrupt ruling when reflecting on his tenure as Chief Justice.

Sure, buddy, we'll forget all about it since you got your way.

The MSM is also responsible for treating the staged demonstration by GOP operatives (who banged on glass in an intimidation scheme) as if it was a spontaneous expression of general public anger over the process. This is akin to the MSM's reporting of the staged toppling of Hussein's statue by our military as being a spontaneous outburst of the public in Iraq.
OOHHH OOOHHH ! 2000 vintage liberal tears !!! sip sip sip ! SLURP!! ohhh I hardly ever get good old 2000 vintage tears anymore. Thank you, thank you !
See! It just keeps getting better and better.

Right or left...if I was a faithless elector and changed my vote, I would fear for my life in the current political climate.

If you are referring to Hamilton's proposition in Federalist 68 that the EC is there to ensure the people are not duped, then I would agree and that is exactly what is occurring in a few days.

Okay, go be in your safe space. Eventually you will have to come out.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...video-black-student-charged-article-1.2903296

Last month, parents and students told the Saucon Valley School Board about several other racist incidents.

One student said she was asked if she was drinking from the right water fountain and then was told the fountain was only for whites, the newspaper reported.

You still think people are ignorant and not aware of what his election really means? LOL.

The difference is the OP is just trolling.

Not when your spiteful child diminishes a steelworker for calling him out on the Truth of the Carrier deal.

Robert Reich just called out your Insect in Chief. Your Insect in Chief reflects the sorry, deficient, low and un-American character of his constituency -- that's you.

President Asshole is telling us now that he's going to "bring us together." With each passing day, he is doing the opposite. So -- sure -- it's "better." We're going to watch this Sorry Sack of Shit self-destruct. He and his minions are making fools of themselves.

As are you.

Hah. Robert Reich. The former Clinton sec. of labor Reich that back '09 said, "no new jobs for white men" as part of Obama's economic plans. Such a paragon of virtue he is.

I can't find any evidence that Reich ever said that.

Hillary couldn't operate a fax machine. Call me crazy but I needed at least that much. That's why I voted for the American people by voting not Hillary. Theo Epstein turned the Cubs around so he got my write-in vote along with Tom Ricketts.
