For alot of the people it is the calves.

If you ever look around and notice, there a very few people with "well-developed" good calves.

I know they sure give me trouble. I can blast them with:

seated calf raises
Standing calf raises
one-leg calf raises
donkey calf-raises
leg press toe raises

until I'm blue in the face and they do jack. Everything else comes along fairly easily. But not those pesky calves.

I have very well developed legs too, didn't have to do anything for them, but my back and shoulders/upper arms, are harder for me to develop.

I'm a bit of an oddball. I have a very long torso and have to buy shirts for tall men, but have arms and legs that are disproportionatly shorter, so the sleeves of those shirts go down to the middle of my hand instead of the wrist! You would never know it by looking at me (it's not like I'm a dwarf or something) but I know it because of difficulty buying clothes.

The outcome of it though is that I develop arm and leg muscles very quickly... perhaps because the shorter length causes them to work harder to move a load... but I'm not sure. Upper arms, upper legs, calves (including a nice split right up the middle) and fore-arms grow without much work. My hardest part to develop is my chest! I've got a VERY large ribcage... when I was at 190 I had a 45" chest and 31" waist.... so the pecs are spread over a larger area and never look like they've got much size or thickness. :(

As for abs... I've never gotten to the point where I can see them well. Even at 190 (I'm 6') I just see the outline, so maybe the abs are my hardest. But since I'm at 280 right now, even if I had the best abs in the world I wouldn't be able to see them!

I've never had any problems developing my calves. They're like rocks. I'm not trying to boast, I just noticed that after I started running everyday, my calves eventually got to the point that they were super hard. Now the rest of me...still has quite a was to go. I'm currently working on that elusive "6 pack". Right now it looks more like a two pack at the top because I've got just a little too much insulation for the other 4 pack to show through.

I agree that calves has a lot to do with genetic makeup, I have one guy that used to make deliveries to us. This guys calves were gigantic, he was big like a lumberjack but his calves were insane, he doesn't do a thing for them.

Have to agree with calf....you either have them or you don't. Abs aren't hard to develop...it's removing the blubber in FRONT of them that's hard! :p

Its the Lats. It takes serious work and genetics to develop that sought after V-Shape.

Abs are by the hardest in my opinion. I've been lifting weights during the football off season for 3 years now and I still don't have my six-pack. :( I've got nicely defined and built bi's/tri's/pecs/calvs/thighs/etc. but don't have the abs. Gotta figure out somehow to get them going before summer starts! Hurry! :)

got to love having 5% body fat, lol. Actually i'm closer to 8%. During swim season I ate about 6000 calories a day, I keep on thinking that people like me are the reason for hunger problems in the world. Maybe i should be "eliminated" in favor of feeding two other people who are a little more efficient in the food department...

Tricepts respond incredibly fast to punishment. Try skull crushers. When your doing the reps, focus all your energy into your triceps. Try to feel the burn, focus on only using those three muscles on the back of your arm.

Anyone notice how fast you lose your strength when you dont work out? It seems like I lose my muscle within a few days.
