It's not the best picture in the world - I could have taken it when the flag was fully extended, but I wasn't sure how the shot would come out. Here is a pic of a flag that was put up on a job I was on in Boston.

It was cool when they brought it out. They had about 30 vets carrying it and help raising it.

I spent today with my brother in law who is leaving for Fort Bragg in the morning. Then he gets his orders for Baghdad. Godspeed bro...

Here's to all those who came before us to offer themselves and their service to save our country, and especially to those who paid the ultimate price with their lives.

Remember that there are valid reasons and times for sacrifice, but always remember to question our leaders and ourselves to be sure that, when such sacrifice is asked, the cause is just and worthy.

I was born two months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Around ten times as many U.S. troops were killed in WW II than died in Korea or Viet Nam. The threat to all of humanity was grave, and the cause was just. I'm glad we finally got a memorial for those who fought in for us, then.

God bless our soldiers around the world, especially in Iraq. I have a cousin who was with the 4th ID that captured Sadam Hussien. My nephew may be joining him soon. He will be transferred from S. Korea to Ft. Hood in July.
