Essentially, make it as much like it now as possible on the frontend while making the backend easier for you guys.

I agree

The reason I like AT forums is because of the layout. It's easy to navigate and I find it easier to read. The post is in one place, the user info in another (the left hand side)

I also like that pics aren't automatically placed into the threads

seriously, images in pics and sigs makes everything look trashy and ridiculous and obnoxious. i will definitely have mine turned off. pictar sigs are the *worst*

There are tons of vB themes out there to choose from, it may not be an easy decision for the admins to make on what skin is best to use for the new forum.

I don't know... I thought the same thing for a while myself... but then they put out a real beta test. Things are looking pretty good right now IMO.

Useful vbulletin plugin is needed - auto image resizer, techpowerup forums has this. Loads the image then makes it resized to 800x600, clicking it will make it full size again but it prevents side scrolling.

I think I mentioned this in the plugin suggestion thread but I thought I'd mention it here too.

My first post actually had a point. The current theme of the Vb forums looks extremely dated.
