Also, why are there SO MANY Palestinian Militants? - Why doesn't their Government STOP them - or does the PA APPROVE of the suicide bombings?

maybe because so many have been forced out of their homes. Unforuntely Americans have never had the special experience of being forcibly removed from your home, told to take what little you can carry, then watch in the distance as it is bulldozed.

Actually many over the course of American history have, but to my knowledge none of them turned to terrorism.

Terrorism IS ALWAYS WRONG what the hell is the matter with some of you people?

Invading Iraq is terrorism in my opinion. So shut up.

Yup, just as soon as you posted.
your vitriol is unwelcome;

So how are the Palestinians supposed to responed to Israeli's air strikes.
no longer trying to kill civilians would work.
Reverse the roles, make Palestine the more powerful of the two and would you expect Israel to do anything different?
the Israelis wouldn't target civilians with suicide attacks.
Sure that guy is getting on a bus to get his point across but this is their only available tactic to defend themselves
murdering civilians isn't 'self defense'

then why is Sharon still alive? he orders attacks on Palestinian militants, that end up killing innocent civilians in the process.
you answered your own question:
hamas orders strikes on non combatants, with the intent of killing innocent civilians.

I'm sure that changes your view on the subject, right?

Wow, you are an ignorant nerd, aren't you? I agree, civilians shouldn't be killed, but they have no alternative. They don't have a country trying to hunt terrorism w/ terrorist tactics behind their back. So get a clue.

Also, I am curious how you know that Israel wouldn't target civilians? Looks like you live your life in a strategy game. Get a clue buddy, get a clue.

telling people to shut up is not a very persuasive argument. As for your opinion: it is neither credible nor is it a thoughtful point. I'm sorry you are so taken by whatever propaganda keeps you from having an even handed view to the world, hopefully you'll realize that everyone else isn't nuts and your not the only sane one.

I'm sorry that my lack of clue indicates to you that my words inacurate. I can assure you that the facts on the ground are indeed that hamas atacks innocent civilians while Sharon's targets are military in nature.

I'm not sure how personal insults change the outcome of my observations, nor how distracting from the question posed in any way changes the answer. Unless of course you are arguing that the intentional targeted murder of civilians for the sake of trying to strike terror into the hearts of the civilian population is some how acceptable. I highly doubt that you are saying you think that such things could ever be justified... but i would like confirmation because:

The essential point of who has what sized army are completely irrelevant: unless you take as pre-supposed that the murder of civilians for the sake of trying to terrorize the civilian population is justified if the opponent has a lacking military force.

So are you arguing such?

sometimes my manner of speaking is to "complex" for some to follow, as such I've emphasized the only words you truly need to see in order to understand the ideas in my point.

Kill the rest of the terrorists. End of problem.

and after the "terrorists" are gone, they'll come up with a different definition. Maybe next time they'll target you or me. Humans thrive on conflict.

Why were the Palestinians and Arafat kicked out of Jordan by the govt there?

Arafat chose terrorism as a form of resistance against the Israelis at a VERY early age - yet somehow he became the leader of the Palestinian people??

http://www.yahoodi.com/peace/lebanon.html
In 1970 Arafat and his PLO were kicked out of Jordan when he began to move against King Hussein. That bloody day was known as Black September. Arafat fled to the unsuspecting and friendly arms of the Lebanese people. Lebanon was formerly governed jointly by Muslims and Christians according to the agreement after WWII. In the twelve years Arafat was there (1970 until the Israelis threw him out in 1982) he turned Lebanon into one of the most bloody killing grounds in the world. At least 100,000 Lebanese civilians were killed. Every corner of Beirut was a checkpoint for the terrorists to collect money, take your car, or simply blow you away. Muslim and Christian militia killed each other with joy.
When Israel captured Beirut, they found that captured Christian soldiers were brought to Muslim hospitals where they were literally drained of their blood for transfusions to wounded Muslim PLO terrorists. One village chief made the mistake of defying Arafat. His 16 year old daughter was kidnapped and delivered to her father's doorstep in a sack, with her breasts cut off. The PLO adopted the Roman practice of tearing a man apart by using horses pulling his limbs in four directions. Arafat's men were more modern, using fours cars to dismember a man.

- Emanuel A. Winston

Ya, you quote a site called yahoodi, which means jew. I'm sure that's a real unbiased and objective perspective on the whole thing. Show those same numbers and "facts" from a source that has nothing to gain by demonizing someone else.

I didn't even look at the URL -

Here is how I found it
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=palestinians+kicked+out+of+lebanon

I actually meant to type Jordan instead of lebanon

So, are you disputing the info or just the source?

Ya, I have trouble beleiving stuff like this:

Do you have any other sources documenting these kind of things? I have the same problem with Arabs who talk about acts commited by Jewish people that make them seem like blood thirsty animals. There is a lot to gain by making your enemy look as bad as possible.

LOL!

There's really no logical solution to the overall conflict. The only apparent solution is that one side has to win. I hope I'm wrong.

Isn't it interesting how easy it is to call other people cockroaches and loose it when you get called one yourself. I don't really think of you as a cockroach, Romans, I just wanted you to see yourself. And you did, rather well in fact, it would seem, by how you reacted to yourself in the mirror.

Actually, my issue is that an elite member had just as vicious as an attack, and he wasn't banned.

And my new leaf turning is I'm not going to single out people in my signature.

Moonie's response was hardly as vicious. Read their exchanges again and tell me how you think that. And as for your sig, you think sweeping generalizations about 1/2 the country being "traitors" is an improvement? Christ, I'd like to see what you do when you fall of the wagon. ;)

EDIT: Oh, you were talking about perknose's comments?

Correct, I wasn't referring to Moonbeam :)

Where's the generalization? I'm just offerring up evidence, then asking the question, and allowing everyone to decide for themselves.

Trust me, it's been hard...I've seen some doozy quotes lately :)

Now, back on topic. Kudos to Israel. They should kill every known leader of Hamas. Every spokesman that comes onto TV or the radio preaching violence against israel should be targeted. Hamas is nothing more than a more refined, richer Al-Qaida, that just hasn't yet targeted the US yet because they recognize it would spell their doom even faster.

What was the purpose of that message? You're just trying to instigate this even further. You often try to put yourself on a pedestal above everyone else and talk down to them to make a point. That's not healthy.

Moonbeam long ago allowed hate to overcome him and became a huge troll.

The rules don't apply to him, so I expect nothing to happen. At one pojnt I figured a mod would at least post a warning to him for trolling, but not even that.

Just part of what you have to live with on AT.

Michael

ps - Elite members have been banned in the past and I bet it will happen in the future as well. So it isn't that. I have my own suspicions of why some don't get banned, but discussing it publically is a ticket to a banning.

pps - If you can't tell the difference between Hamas and the democratically elected government of Israel, then I have a difficult time discussing the subject with you. If the PLO/Hamas/other terrorist group had a goal other than the utter destruction of Israel, then it might be a different story. Some people just hate the Jews and threads like this bring them out in droves.

Hehe, you know alot more than I do, etech, saying I'm untouchable or should I call that thinking you know alot more. And I would hope that anybody with a nickels worth of common sense would know that Romans got himself banned. Where's your right winged sense of personal responsibility. His reactions were all his own and totally unpredictable. It's interesting that you are so offended by negativism toward the country, and yet you have no problem at all pigeon-holing me as somebody who's happy to see somebody banned. You must be reacting to something you hate about yourself that you don't recognize or see. I found it very unfortunate that he was given a vacation over something I said. That's part of why I mentioned that I really don't feel about him as though he were a cockroach. What I wanted him to see is his need to hurt others by turning the tables and feeding him his own spew.

Mega Works, please don't crap in threads...

lets see, kill millions of people, that would make them no better than the Nazi's who killed millions of Jews. The wall they are constructing is already distressing enough. Maybe Sharon learned a little to much Nazi history
you are aware, i'm sure, that hamas is murdering the Israeli children, intentionally, but Sharon does not respond with a full-scale military attack against those he's at war with. This is war, it's hell, and Israelis are trying to play it nice.. if they 'learned a little to much Nazi history' then they'd be slaughtering the people left and right, threatening the people around them with their nuclear weapons, instead of using targeted assassinations of leaders.

unless you are arguing that they are nothing like Nazis.

well geez, I'd have to say that includes a lot more people and governments than just the Palestinians and Arabs. Or are they just terrorists because they are Arab?
no they are terrorists because they target civilians.

I find it fascinating that if an alien force could switch all the Palestinian babies born with all the Jewish babies born night after night, in not too many years the children would be killing their parents. How odd that people get so excited about the side on which they think they were born when, in fact, we are all exactly the same. Who you think you are is just an accident and who you really are is deeply hidden, hidden beneath the deeply suppressed but illusionary feeling that you are a cockroach. The reason that insults hurt is that they are already believed. We insult others in the hope that we can make others feel as rotten as we already feel. The Arab Israeli conflict cannot really be solved without understanding this. Always and everywhere the enemy is us, our own self hate. It really pissed me off when I found out. :D Damn, there's no one to blame.

Moonbeam - You've been using the mirror comment for years. If you think that you're me in the mirror in any way, you have a vastly better opinion of yourself than I can even imagine. You have become the lowest form of troll on this BBS and have been doing so for a long time now.

Most of your posts are one or two lines where you don't even discuss the issue in the thread. Instead, you act like the monkey you are and throw feces.

This forum is much better off when you're not posting on it.
