Well too late i already pre-ordered it, i cant seriously believe that it wont run well on my system. Why would they make a game that cant run well on the high end computers of the present? That is just stupid and the game wouldn't sell.

No, you realize those benchmarks are at max detail. you can scale it down.

if you are referring to the HL2 benchies, the ones anand ran had AA and FSAA turned OFF and the 9800 pro still only got 46 fps in one of the demos @ 1024*768

at maximum detail. turn the settings down the FPS go up. Valve has stated that at the lowest settings 640x480 a GEFORCE CLASSIC will be able to run it.

this is just horrible, the game ran just fine on a 700mhz p3 and a geforce3 ... then the pc version comes and what, 20frames per second??

it is a very unoptimized beta, i have it, but cannont say how i got it for legal reasons, my 2600+ and rad 9000 pro system run it between 20 - 40 fps on high and 30 - 60fps or so on low. on the beta highest and lowest look extremly simil;ar except for the muzzle flash of the guns and bullets on walls. The game has many problems, but the version i have has several multi player maps, and the complete campaing, but with a good bit of glitches. Such glitches are, when an explosion explodes, the ground becomes all white instead of black, and lots of things are invisible, some doors are and such. i dont know if i am allowed or if it is legal to post pics, can someone answer this for me? if it is legal, i will give you guys a treat 🙂

what version of the beta do u got, 1.5? I have 1.5 and I can't get past the silent cartographer. You all are the right, the game does run really slow, but I like the plot of the game, so i'll still buy it, even though I only have a geforce 3😱 . Plus multiplayer with the vehicles is really fun. I used to play in 16 player xbox lans with my friends and it was just awesome.

yea 1.5 but dont worry, a gf3 and a decent system would run the game high to highest details pretty well, the xboxc uses a slightly modified gf3 ti200 and a 733mhz p3. So a 1 ghz or more with a gf3 and 64Mb of ram or more would do much better. They should have an option to run on "xbox" settings, that way it looks awesome and runs on even slwo machines. My comp is over 5 times that of xbox, i dont see why they cant make it at least as fast as the xbox version.

out in november

Got a link to backup that release date? No...ok then be gone

I'm not sure I understand how they could have botched this so badly. I mean, it was already a PC game that ran fine on a P3 733 with 64 MB RAM and and what is essentially a GF3.

Edit: If I had read the entire thread, I'd have seen that several people already pointed this out. 😱

A spokeswoman for VUG, a unit of Vivendi Universal said developer Valve Software issued a statement on Tuesday saying the game would not make Sept. 30 but was still targeted for an unspecified holiday release.

As of Friday afternoon, online retailer Amazon.com showed the game being released Dec. 1, while EBGames.com showed it shipping Nov. 14, and GameStop.com showed it being released Feb. 2 of next year.

MSNBC: ?Half-Life 2? video game delayed

Moral of the story: Don't tell people what to do until you get the facts yourself, rookie.

Are you using the Halo release by FLT? If not don't bother...hell even if it you are, don't bother. Either you're using a 1.5 beta which understandably has glitches in it or you're using the aforementioned 9/25 release which may not be retail as well.

Well, you also have to consider that t he XBOX version probably only runs at 640x480 since its being display on a television screen.

i "came across" that version and for whatever reason, it doesn't run right. there are no textures at all. just large 1 pixel polygons for the ships, planets, etc. have details on high =\

I really don't think it's that botched...

I am betting that is still BETA which has been posted.

On Sept 30th, we will see if anything changes. Reguardless, i ran BETA 1.5 and it was very acceptable for beta.
