Ditto and cocnur about other commetns about it beign outdated.

But I played it when it was newer. Maybe a year old. And I simply did not understand all the rave.

You say that like its a good thing.

I still have my voodoo 5 box with a pic of halo on the back. That tells you how long the game was in dev

That's because it changed from a RTS on the mac, to a FPS on the mac, to a FPS on maybe mac and both PC, and then finally a FPS on the xbox. The xbox version was only in development for about 9 months, and I really doubt they used much of their old code/models.

There are a lot of games out now with a lot better graphics. Me and my friends still boot up Halo 1 every once in a while to LAN it up, and Halo 2 more often because we can usually find more people to play that. In halo 1 they get discouraged because of how much we, well, rape them.

There is not a single console FPS that takes more skill. Not one. That's why it was pretty much the ONE game to start huge console tournaments akin to PC tournies. That is why it's still fun to play.

Perfect Dark, in both single and multiplayer modes, was far more than Halo ever was. I'm waiting anxiously for Perfect Dark Zero.

are you kidding me? that game was awful. the only thing redeeming about it was elvis

edit: if anyone watches the "making of halo" video... god, it was so much better before M$ bought out bungie... we need a good 3rd person action game, and it was looking excellent. i too have pictures of the original halo adorning my voodoo5 5500 pci box 😀

hmm compaing goldeneye for the N64 to Halo is like comparing a Bentley to a Kia.

goldeneye was probably one of the best multiplayer games ever made. when you consider its almost 8 years old or so, its amazing. the single player was so amazing

the music was sooo good

i still have great memories of playing marathons with my friends, it was soooooooooooooo much fun

Marathon was awesome. It would even run on a crappy Mac Performa that I had at the office. Unfortunately, other than the graphics, Halo was nowhere near as good as Marathon.

. . . .yessss . . . we've known that for 5 years now. I have a ball . . . perhaps you'd like to bounce it?

When I got my XBox everyone was telling me how awesome Halo was. It wasn't.

Very overrated game in my opinion.

QFT, Marathon was so ahead of it's time. A physics system, real akimbo weapons, an awesome plot, and the ability to actually aim at your enemies with a mouse, all back in 1994.
