Heard about this on radio yesterday... what has this country come down to...

What's outrageous is that I actually wasted my time opening this thread and typing out a reply to this idiocy.

I heard this on NPR last night and was telling the girlfriend about it (and how utterly absurd it was). The random people he supposedly "interviewed" sounded very coached. The average person already in a Halloween store isn't going to have an articulate argument against costumes because they're racist or stereotypical.

I wanted to tell the guy who did that piece that if he was so offended by a white person dressing up as a pimp or a Hispanic person, then why wasn't he equally offended by black people satirically portraying white people (think Wayans brothers in 'White Girls')?

As a professional mack daddy, I feel insulted that you would offend my choice of lifestyle. I'll pimp them ho's no matter what, ya diggin' me brother?

so only blacks can be pimps? damn..guess i need to find a new line of work.

say on a different subject anyone want to buy 12 female sheep?

This argument is bullshit. I told somebody the other day that i was dressing up as a hasidic rabbi, complete with hat, curls, beard and black suit and was accused of racism and anti-semitism. But they had no problem dressing up like a priest or nun.

I went to a halloween party that had the theme "80s sitcom characters". One white guy dressed up as Steve Urkel and even colored his face black with dark shoe polish. I wasn't offended but some people thought it was racist.

lol, back in college we actually had entire pimps & hoes themed parties. All the guys would dress up as pimps and all the girls would dress as slutty hoes. Ah the good ol' days.
