Thanks, but the Amazon link is just a front for TigerDirect also. I understand Christmas and all, but I still have not received any answer to any of the emails I have sent to TigerDirect. How much more expensive was it at the site you listed? The link just takes you to a login and I am not registered on it.

EDIT: I did find the same card at Directron for a higher price. Ended up costing me $46 shipped in. Of course TigerDirect has relisted the card on Ebay for $29.99 with standard shipping of $28.25. I'm sure they will sell a bunch with this ridiculous shipping price. FYI Ebay gave me grief because I cancelled the sale. I guess they care more about making money than honesty. :(

had a friend that never had an ebay account, created one to try and list some bike parts and the closed him down saying he was a fraudster. It was his first time using ebay! He gave up trying to use it.

Its unfortunate for ebay cause this guy goes through bike parts like you wouldn't believe and could have sold a ton of stuff on ebay.

Looks like I need to add bluetooth to the SL hack I built my cousin (she wants to use a Mighty Mouse).

Anyone recommend a bluetooth adapter that she would be able to use the Mighty Mouse with?

I got the D-link USB bluetooth adapter for about $10 on ebay, it's been great with my Apple Wireless Keyboard. Out of the box full compatibility

Any model number on this or just look for the D-link USB BT adapter? It's time for me to get a new KB and mouse as both mine are showing signs of age. Especially my Logitech mouse as my wheel no longer works as it should. Takes several spins to get it to move up and down a page.

how did she kill it?

It seemed to have fixed it self thank goodness :)

Power surge, was weird neither osx nor windows would recognize the ethernet. A nights sleep helped i guess...

BTW wouldnt be the first time power surge has killed an ethernet card here. Really need to hook up the cable lines to a surge protector.

I have been using 10.5 on my es2l for six months with K's es2l slytherine package - many thanks for that. Everything is working well except the sleep issues below.

Sleep has not been working for some time, perhaps since upgrading to 10.5.8. When I select sleep from the menu, or when the computer autosleeps, I cannot wake it up. I am forced to restart.

I have gotten sleep to work better with the sleepenabler extension on this page:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/in...pid=1277799&mode=threaded&start=#entry1277799

I have gotten autosleep to work with the RIP2 script on this page:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=182535&pid=1243508&st=0&#entry1243508

The autosleep is a bit too aggressive - putting the computer to sleep when some tasks are active.

Does anyone with more experience have better suggestions for sleep on 10.5.8?

That's odd - my ES2L is on 10.5.8 with the Slytherine package and it works great. I use it for a Media Center and do sleep all the time. Hmm. System specs, extra hardware?

Hmm.

Specs - GA-G31M-ES2L / E5200 / 2 Gb RAM / 1TB WD / 9400GT / Samsung DVD-RW / Antec EA380 / 10.5.8

Extra hardware - EyeTV (USB) / Apple remote sensor (USB)

Also using it as a media center, and working very well other than sleep.

Too many pages on here to read them all, Neighbor has an unopened copy of the new OSX and decided not to install it. I can pick it up cheap but Googling isn't telling me if my MB will work.

DFI LANParty DK P45-T2RS Elite MB, Razer Barracuda sound card, not sure what sound chip it uses. But it works in my Ubuntu without me having to install a driver. I have no other PCI cards in my system. Will OSX work?

Just for fun, try unplugging the EyeTV USB device, reboot, and then try sleep.

I unplugged the EyeTV USB device, removed the sleepenabler.kext, and rebooted ->
the system did not sleep properly. The fans stayed on, and I could not wake the system up. This is the same behavior I see when the EyeTV is plugged in.

I gave up on the surge protection, wired everything to a UPS. Was pretty awesome when a neighbors tree fell down, and crushed his garage, tearing down the power lines and breaking two telephone polls. Was able to hop online while broadband/wireless was still up on my laptop to look up the power company and swear at them.

good times!

Try leaving SleepEnabler.kext in there, with the EyeTV device unplugged, then reboot and try sleep. Make sure to install the kext with KextHelper or via command line properly!

I haven't taken the plunge to SL yet, however just noticed that the wife is asking for itunes-store support which requires safari 4 which requires me to update from 10.5.6 ->10.5.8.

It -looks- like from my searching that i can just go ahead, do that and reapply the patches from the 10.5.6 ud3p kit.

I thought I had to do something special for this but I can't fully remember if i'm confusing sl stuff with 10.5.8 stuff.

Ok, i give up, reapplied Uinstaller kit, and audio still no go. just ordered the usb syaba. Enough of this audio fighting!
