I get a lot of fulfillment in life other than video games and I'm happy when I level up and unlock something. I guess thats weird?

Yes and it's not a handicap at all

In fact I started playing on M&K and changed to pad. My win rates went up with using the pad

Glad to hear it - might go ahead and pick this up on PC

Meh, I'm just spitballing ;) I do think there's an element of truth to it, though, I didn't mean to express it in a manner that excluded the possibility that one can't feel a sense of accomplishment from a videogame given the premise that they're rewarded elsewhere, as well.

There is a slick deal for this game on yuplay.ru you may want to check out. I got the game for 35 bucks. It's a global key too so the game is in English.

If you get it on pc add me I need people to play with.

Respawn said that they added a bit of aim assist for players using a controller on PC instead of mouse to compensate a bit. It helps to even out the game for those who choose that control method.

Yeah I noticed it a bit actually

I have just been using the shotgun so aiming is less important anyway !

Me too, and I'm going to go a step further and build upon what he said and put a finer point on it: leveling up gives some gamers a false sense of achievement... even accomplishment. When such things are lacking in other aspects of one's life, perhaps this leads to a sense of fulfillment. But if you get that fulfillment from other things in life - personal relationships, physical fitness, work, etc - leveling up in a videgame holds virtually zero meaning.
So... If a gamer enjoys the leveling/XP/Unlock aspect of a game, not only does he have a short attention span... But he also gets no fulfillment from real life personal relationships, work, etc.

You guys say these very insulting things... And then don't understand people's reactions. Unbelievable.

Actually, I just get the impression people around here are very touchy and personalize everything. Anyone with any common sense knows that any statement can be generalized and is not absolute. Rather than just let the comment go and disagree, someone had to try to tear it apart because they were offended, yet said nothing intelligent as to why they thought I was incorrect. The reaction was equivalent to a playground argument of "nuh uh, because I said so". There was nothing intended to be offensive by what I said and I thought my explanation initially was pretty clear.

I in no way think everyone who enjoys them has a short attention span, and I never said that. That is peoples over reactive interpretation. In fact, I would go so far to say that people on THIS forum are in no way anyone I was actually talking about, because I would like to think, many if not most are a bit above average in the technical and geeky category (I could actually be wrong). My initial comment was about the reasons for them being in these particular games to begin with and how they got popular. Saying people like them is not wrong, but it isn't the answer either, because as I pointed out, many people in this thread said they didn't like them, but it didn't deter them from playing.

So, in essence I've found that it seems anytime I voice an opinion that "omg" differs from someone they will take it personally and I end up spending more time watching people try to pick apart sentences with no real content to them besides they don't agree (but never put that nicely) rather than have an intelligent conversation. So if you are going to start an argument with me, at least have some substance and an actual basis for your opinion, otherwise..just let it go. (again the above is a generalization, it doesn't apply to everyone).

Maybe you should have continued reading before replying:

And ImpulseE69 nailed it:

In other words, quit looking for reasons to get offended and pissed off. This isn't The View. For all the controversy and scandal you accuse others of, you sure do look hard to drum up drama.

Yup. Doesn't pass the sniff test for me. I read this as code for why they're scrubs pulling up the rear in games.. nothing more.

Can't win at a new game, so blame Canada. Blame your wife/girlfriend, blame your job, blame your lack of physical activity, blame your lack of learning a 2nd language or reading books to keep your mind sharp.
Now I don't play MMOs but I win at my salary, wife, travel to 10+ countries around the world, speak 2 languages and I'm good at games new and old. It can be done. Steam achievements have nothing to do with anything, especially my attention span. Doesn't even make sense.

For sake of not hurting anyones feelings, since I like achievements, I'm a loner in my grandma's basement. :)

You went off in a completely unrelated direction, but congrats on your personal victory.

When it comes to achievements...we never had them back in the day and we still found reasons to play or tried to reach personal goals in a game. We didn't need to be toldhow to play or given a certain direction. That is the difference to me.

I see gamers who refused to buy games last gen that didn't have trophies or achievements because they wanted to inflate a meaningless score.

This is legit? That site seems so shady...

Yeah I thought so as well, but it worked for me. I was looking at some other games on there but those were RU codes only, so I think it's just luck that the titanfall version happens to be global.

I like the leveling aspect because it allows you to quickly judge the probable skill of opposing players. I know sometimes you run into a low-level player that is good and vice versa, but usually if someone has played long enough and well enough to significantly level up then you can assume they will be decent.

You must be new to the COD series then. I've ran into quite a few multi-prestiged individuals with abysmal KDR; my GF being one of them. I just can't fathom how it is fun to have like a 0.3 KDR and have a ton of time put in a game.

Early on, yes it isn't a bad indicator, as the best will level up quicker. However, after a month or two, it is a crap shoot.

Did you even read what I wrote? Your anecdotal evidence is noted though.

Worked for me too. It's global edition and I checked my bank statements too. No double charges or weird charges anywhere.

Well I tried...couldn't make it work. My credit cards were declined (probably because it is russia lol) and the FAQ says you can paypal, but I didnt see how to make that happen. :(

Yea when I bought it paypal was available. They must have removed it. On slickdeals they menetioned setting up one of those pay accounts putting money in then using that to pay for it.

I'm glad when I bought it paypal was an option.

yeah, I emailed them. His response was short and to the point: They have the Russian game only, no global, and paypal is no longer an option for them.

I'm a thinkin they got in trouble somehow.

Yea I guess so I'm not sure. I know those on slickdeals who opened a different payment account added money and used that to pay posted that they didn't get Russian version. They could have also taken it off.

Yeah I think you're right, the language used to have a bunch listed and looks like they removed paypal from the payment options.
