Nvidia will make sure those sandbags get tessellated, at a factor of 128,000 !

 If GTX680 was launching around this time, they sure would! Also, once you shot them, you'd get 200 particles of debris the minute PhysX kicked in.

Dont know about the sandbags but I think the game looks beautiful in the maps I have played so far (Firestorm, Caspian Border, Metro).

Gtx560 ti 1GB outperforms 6950 2GB when 4xAA is enabled and resolution is increased. Which doesn't make sense considering everyone here says the game uses over 1GB VRAM at those settings. Fake benchmark?

Minimum fps benchmark. Refer to their testing methodology.

Their average and minimum are next to each other. They picked a 20s scene where everything is blowing up.

I am aware they picked a worse case scenario. How does that prove 1Gb cards are running out of frame buffer? If 1Gb is choking on this game, then how did 560 ti 1Gb under perform 6950 2gb at a tiny resolution without msaa but out perform at a higher resolution with 4xmsaa?

Any criticism about the graphics have been answered along the lines of "its a beta" and ultra not being ultra but medium. Does metro look any better in the release version? Please post some screenies of the park areas.

All that tech talk and Previews......yet the game looks far from what they mislead us with.

Marketing. They are the only developer using an engine built exclusively for DX11. Of course they are going to say a bunch of good things about the technology.

Edit: Ok I must admit its looking good so far.

What I liked from the discussion from the lead developer was the work done with particle lighting and shadows.

Game looks awesome, textures are detailed and view distance is huge and crisp. Shadows are the best i've seen yet. All that and it runs pretty damn good.

It took 317 post before someone put up a screenshot? Seriously?

Anyway, I've put it leave for all of next week and I'm going to be playing this on my brothers, much faster, rig.

Sandbags update.

They look the same as in beta. The game doesn't use tessellation! Also ultra is ultra in beta. The visuals are very similar between beta and release in Multiplayer maps.

Sandbags update.

It looks different but still not quite right. The game doesn't use tessellation! Also ultra is ultra in beta. The visuals are very similar between beta and release in Multiplayer maps.

Tessellation only used on terrain apparently. From the DICE dev presentation. You should see its effect when you get into a jet and view the entire map's terrain and its still amazingly detailed. Jaw dropping really.

Oh btw, some of you were bagging on forever about those crap sandbags from beta.

Retail looks better than beta WMD, textures definitely more high-res, esp for debris/decals and rocks etc.
