No, but then, nothing I do is dependent on that type of balance.
I do basic weight training for size, that's it. But I know of many different ways to increase specific muscular stamina and/or balance. And many exercises using balls are for balance.

He is building incredible core strength and balance by doing that exercise.
There are tons and I mean tons of exercises that you will not see in 90% of gyms that are just phenomenal for building athletic ability.
