It contains some facts for the naive and canadian.

Hey now. Not all Canadians are pantywaisted liberal treehugging hippies like bigshot. Some of us love our firearms and high explosives, and endure a lot of crap from our "fellow countrymen" for it.

You're right, just bigshot 😛

Let's continue the disarmament of Canada. The sooner their citizens have no arms, the sooner the US can invade and take it over.

O Caaaaaaanadaa......

Damnit, do we really need to invade and torch down your Whitehouse AGAIN?

Sure. Try us, punk! Huh? Who dat? Ahhhh shite, I knew yo ass'd punk out.

😉

Hey.... wait a second... Who said it was the Americans who were smuggling guns into Canada??
The original poster even suggesting searching the American cars for guns to slow the Americans down...

Duhhhhh, maybe it's the Canadians smuggling them into Canada?

Or, to put it another way.... fireworks are illegal in NY.... I've purchased many fireworks in the past though. How did I do it: A: road trip and bought some in a place where I could obtain them? B: Some person in South Carolina purchased fireworks, drove to NY, and attempted to sell them to strangers????

Geeeez, Why doesn't NY use Bigshot's logic and tell South Carolina to quit selling fireworks, because they are used illegally in NY, and people get injured every year from them.

I was thinking about that some more. Really, we wouldn't NEED to disarm the Canadians, because most Canucks with firearms would probably welcome being forcefully "annexed."

Let's start a bill in congress to take over Canada. We're running frightfully low on some of the natural resources they have lots of...suchas.....elk...and snowshoes...

Let me get this straight you want to institute a system where the weak and elderly are at the mercy of the strong, the lone are at the mercy of the gang. You want to give violent criminals a government guarantee that citizens are disarmed. Sorry, that's unacceptable. Better that we should require every citizen to carry a gun.

Bleep

Less guns? What, there are 10 million firearms in Canuckland, and 30 million people? Assuming one per person, 1/3rd of the population owns a firearm.

Oh yeah, because EVERY gun owner owns just one gun.

Go take a statistics course sometime

I said assuming you moron.

Well *assuming* you have half a brain you would realize that is an absolutely ridicolous assumption that has absolutely zero basis to it. If you need any further explanation as to why it is such an asinine statement I beg you to keep your mouth shut until you gain a slight sense of logic.

It makes sense coming from an American, a person who didn't grow up where you don't need a gun and owning guns is shoved down your throat. Look at the statistics, USA is the murder capital of the world, Canada has one of the lowest gun murders in the world, whos laws are working?

Errr.... if they aren't already doing that, I'd say it's you damned Canadian that have the problem. 😉

i dont have a link for those percent cause i heard it on CBC news....they did 30 min special on it. Its probably somewhere on the net but im too lazy to find it.

All im asking is to keep your guns out of Canada, and we can continue to live peaceful lives that are not inundated daily with gun murder. Do you know that in Canada when somebody gets murdered with a gun it is usually national news? Because its a rarity cross country. There are probably more people killed daily in LA than in all of Canada yearly. Go figure.

If someone really wants to kill someone else bad enough - guess what? They'll get a gun, smuggled or not. Or fvck the gun, they'll just beat them to death with a hockey stick or something, while we're stereotyping here. And here's a novel concept - maybe the guns are smuggled because people want them. That ever occur to you? And that since you can't buy one legally, they'll bring them from America, the firearm lover's paradise. And of course, the American sellers want to bring them to Canada, since a Saturday Night Special that garners US$100 in Detroit will pull about CDN$500 across the ditch in the GTA.

I'm Canadian. I like firearms. And I hate people like you who want the entire nation to be pussified to the point where we might as well just give away our freedom and property to anyone with a blunt object.

I believe a study that is conducted and showed for 30 min on a reputable station such has CBC. Were not talkin a overly bias station (CNN, FOX list goes on) thats down in the states. Your right...if someone wants to kill someone, they will but dont you think that having access to a handgun is so much easier to do so? Instead of confronting the person you can simply drive by and shoot them. Why do you think Canada has lower homicide rates than US per 100,000 people, plain and simple, less guns.

If you want to carry a gun mercy...you should move. Canada is not being pussified, its being smart. This is why our country is safe. You dont NEED a gun, because we dont all carry one. Learn a lesson. The USA has the highest murder rate IN THE WORLD. Canada has one of the lowest. And thats by ratio, not based on population. The USA is a cesspool of violence, which is why all the people need a gun. Id want a gun too if I lived in the USA. You guys screwed up a long time ago, thanks to some redneck congressmen that feared black people.

Less guns? What, there are 10 million firearms in Canuckland, and 30 million people? Assuming one per person, 1/3rd of the population owns a firearm. I must add that after Canada imposed their 1977 gun control law prohibiting handgun possession for protection, the Breaking and Entering crime rate rose by 25%, surpasing the American rate. Canada also has one of the highest violent crime percentages in the world (4th from the top). Must be the lack of guns.

actually they estimate 7.4mil guns in Canada, 1.2 mil being handguns while the states has 222mil guns and 77mil handguns. Handguns have been illegal to possess and carry since 1934, not 1977. Maybe you should learn some Canadian history and come back when you know what the hell your talkin about. There is probably 10 murders a day in Canada compared 10 murders a day in LA...i wanna see the info that says Canada has the 4th highest violent crime percentage in the world too

edit: there are more than 30x the amount of firearms in USA compared to Canada but only 8.5x the population.
Maybe you should learn about your own country first before you start spouting off crap about how guns make the world more dangerous? "Handgun registration has been required since 1934, with possession of handguns limited to collectors, target shooters and those who can demonstrate a need of guns to protect their lives." Registration was required starting in 1934. Yes, the murder rate is because of population density. Hard to hate someone when they're miles away. In Canada, an average of 3.4 persons live in each square kilometer of land. In the Unites States, an average of 29.8 persons live in each square kilometer of land. That's like taking the population of Kalifornia and spreading it all over Canada.

who gives a sh!t how many people are in a square km of each other, I live in the Ottawa where the population is almost 1 million people, and guess how many murders there have been this year....1 and i dont even think that involved a gun. Go down to Buffalo, and there are triple homicides every fvckin day. Face it...Canada is a safer country than the US. Hell ive walked downtown Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal past midnight countless times over my life and I dont feel scared or in fear of my life at all. Try doing that in Buffalo, Detroit, LA, Houston...list goes on and on.....your probably end up getting mugged, attacked or shot. Ya..and you tell us Canadians that are gun policy is fvcked...at least we can walk downtown in our cities without being afraid of getting shot.

Guns are used nearly 7,000 times a day to prevent crime. That's 2.5 million times a year. Sit down and shut up, newbie.

Over 99.8% of all firearms will never be used in a crime, the percentage is probably even higher.

This always turns into a pissing match...

Im not a big fan of him at all I disagree with Michael Moore a lot but bowling for columbine did show a lot...

Canada is safer then the U.S

A lot of the conception of why Americans feel they need guns for protection is because everyone else has guns. Get rid of all the guns then theres no reason for anyone to have guns...

Its like during the cold war trying to build the biggiest nuclear weapons to scare the others...

Exactely Michael Moore is right. Heston is wrong. Watch Bowling For Columbine. If you cant handle it, its because you fear the TRUTH. But he is right.

Us Canadians keep the peace, and you wont need a piece. Goes all the way down the line. When I was oversees I was shunned until they find out Im Canadian, then Im the center of attention, the reason to have a party, the popular guy. As soon as Im not a US citizen Im not hated.

Time for a look at your own society USA. Its going to undermine itself and crumble like a sand castle in the tide.

There's a law against murder. Does that stop murder? Almost all criminals already get their firearms illegally, WTF will laws do?

You think Bowling for Columbine is the truth?

You're either sadly mistaken or utterly delusional, and I don't know which is worse in your case.

The Truth about Bowling for Columbine

however when something is harder to come by there's less of a chance you may do it.

If you cant get a gun whats the chance of using one in a murder??? YOu might've cooled off by then and not want to commit the murder anymore...
