2. It is my right to own such a weapon.

3. I enjoy target shooting (just bought a Walther P22 which, while not a good target gun is a blast to shoot).

4. .40 is much more scary than a "HEEEE-YAH!!!"

5. Too lazy/busy/old to mess with taking a "HEEEE-YAH!!!" class.

6. Just plain like the feeling of shooting a well made weapon.

I've been thinking of picking up a Walther P22, and getting rid of my Magnum Research Mountain Eagle. How do you like the P22?

As I said... not a terrific target gun, but a blast to shoot nonetheless... I have put about 500 rounds through it so far (had it about a month...LOL) and only had one jam... Walther made a very fun, light, weapon. I am thinking about using it for my conceal/carry weapon.. though I wish the .22 had a bit more punch... guess that is why I pwn a .40 Steyr S though.:D

Well, what are you going to do if someone breaks into your home and trys to kill you or a loved one? Call the cops? BWHAHAHAHAHA!!! You'd be a corpse by the time they show up.

I own guns for many reasons. One of them is self defense. Hopefully, I'll never have to use one in self defense but I'd rather have it and not ever need it than need it and not have it.

Besides, it's my right to own as many guns as I see fit. Freedom is wonderful isn't it?

How old are you?

Im 21.

Now you can explain to me what significance that has.

Because you don't have enough life experiences to discuss the topic.

Are you married, have kids, own anything worth more than $2K that's easily portable, ever had the crap kicked out of you as an adult, ever had more than one person try to beat you up as an adult, have you had sex with more than 2 women?

You're inexperienced & you don't even know it, your posts about handling yourself in an assault are just flat stupid.

How old are you, where do you live, what do you do for a living?

I'm old enough to be your father & if he'd done a decent job of raising you you wouldn't be such an ass on this board. He also would have taught you how to shoot a gun, just as my father did.

Your claiming a lot of crap & I don't see anything to back up your opinions, just a BS attitude.

Honestly though, when I was your age I was anti-gun too, things change...

Anyone who uses a gun on a human is a coward. The criminal who uses one to rob a bank is a coward and the person who tries to defend themselves is a coward, although I can see justification in having a gun to protect yourself. There is no respect for life when you use a gun. It's too easy to kill someone.

You do realize it's illegal to kill the animal and not harvest it, don't you? People that kill an animal and leave it are not "sport hunters."

By the way, your argument about cowardly weapons is like saying people that drive cars or fly in airplanes are cowards for not walking, or people that use DSL or Cable are cowards for not sticking with their old 300 BAUD modems. It's called technological advancement, dumbass.

1. Because you can order a pizza and call 911 at the same time and the pizza would get to your home first.

2. The same reason you have any type of insurance.

3. It is better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Thats quite a statement. How can you be so sure?

Are you serious?

Yes.

Are you fully certain that every person you know owns absolutely zero firearms?

You can tell who has a gun and sho doesnt. Education, career success, appearance.

"Sho" doesn't? So what are you saying, the poorly dressed, unshaven, uneducated slobs on welfare are obviously the people that don't own guns? I would agree with that.[/quote]

No, you misunderstood what I was saying. You got it reversed.

Id rush him and break his face.... Or at least try to, but I would never bring a gun into a home of my home, my family, or anyone I am close to.

I wasnt raised in Texas bro.
I had an infatuation with guns and such when I was in elementary school. And I grew out of it, quickly. Just like all of my friends did.

Im not trying to bring BS to this board, but I do have a strong opinion about this subject just as you do, and Im arguing it just as many of you are. My opinion is just as much of BS as yours is.

And get shot while running towards him? It's easy to be an "e-badass," but I doubt you'd do it if the situation presented itself...

Yep, the new trend towards armed home invasions can be stopped by the new Jackie Chan move to dodge bullets.

If you'd bothered to read my posts, you'd know I wasn't either.

So we know that you'll be making a lot of money, that you're educated & you're anti gun. & that you feel you're morally superior to anyone who dares to own a gun.

as far as i can tell, you're just trolling. the only argument i had gathered from ALL your posts was that people shouldnt own guns because it may cause unnecesarry killing over small comflicts (road rage, arguments etc.) thats it, you havent presented any other arguments against the ownership of guns. you just keep talking about how a gun is not NECESSARY, but that doesn't show why people shouldnt be allowed to own them. even if most people would probably never use a gun for self defense in their lifetime, whats so bad about owning one just in case? the only argument is that owning these guns may cause people to use them in unnecessary situations. but these don't happen often, and when they do, it usually isnt a problem with ownership of firearms, its the wellbeing of the offender.

and stefan, why is using a gun to defend yourself cowardly? maybe itd be cool if we tried to arrest criminals with our bare hands.

You sound like you're pulling these statements out of your arse. I've lived most of my life in Alaska, where we have more guns per capita than any other state the last time I checked. There was no grade school infatuation with guns for myself or anyone I knew, it seems more likely you're making sh!t up to try and associate firearms with childishness.

This thread, although a trolling one presents a lot of good arguements SUPPORTING gun ownership. It is my right as an American. I should not need to have to justify it. I can't find the link, but I read a while back the dissenting opinion of a judge in the ninth circuit on whether the second amendment was a collective or individual right. A good point it made was that a well armed populace is necessary for the preservation of rights both on an individual and collective basis. The second amendment contains the one right that must prevail when all others do. It is our insurance against tyrrany.

But personally, I like marksmanship as a sport. I don't hunt, although I know many that do. As per my "right of revolution", things arent nearly bad enough for me to need it yet. My other rights are perfectly in tact at the moment. One day I will have a family. I will protect them with my life. But I will do everything in my power (using whatever I have....even guns) to make sure it will not come to that.
