I slept on it and I agree, this is the most logical scenario. The homeowner should be sued into bankruptcy.

49% of homeowners have firearms and people still break in like this with no fear. So much for the belief of having more people carrying in public to prevent criminals from acting.

BTW, good for her. I have no problems with guns in homes. SELF-DEFENSE.

Update:A burglar shot multiple times during a home invasion will spend 10 years in prison for the crime.

Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh was the only reporter there when Paul Ali Slater pleaded guilty to burglary charges Tuesday morning. The judge sentenced him to 20 years, with 10 years to serve, and also banished Slater from Walton County.

What percentage keeps the gun loaded and readily accessible? If 50% of people answered doors armed, home invasions would be next to non-existent.

If I don't know you're coming, I don't even get out of the recliner to see who's knocking. Guess the door getting kicked in would give me a clue you're up to no good. Pistol is loaded but maybe not near enough.

My Dad answers the door with a pistol. Back in high school, one of my not so bright friends came by at 2AM, 🙄. He was greeted with a .357.:biggrin:

I thought I saw UPDATE in the thread title, too, but it's gone now.

Anyway, we needed no update to understand how nuts phucheneh is. That was established long ago.
 
Wow 5 to the head and still alive. Props to the mom for protecting her children. Living here in South Dakota, I'll tell you one thing... Nothing says "Get off my lawn" like the racking of a shotgun.
 
Looks like a good shoot, and the guy gets to be put away for a long time. However, she must have just barely hit him. Shoot for center of mass, and a more powerful gun would have helped if she were trained to handle the higher caliber.

Personally, I keep a .45 loaded with HST hollowpoints, and I'm often wearing that thing in a holster when at home.

Oh, right... schools in Connecticut are "gun free" zones. Gee, that makes me feel a lot safer. It's a good thing that we passed some more stupid anti-gun laws on top of this one to "save" us in the future! 🙄

You should feel safer; as a gun-free zone, no guns would be allowed and therefore a shooting can't happen because a would-be shooter would not be able to take his gun on campus.
