Bottle is way superior to can, anyone that says otherwise has no taste in beer.

The exception being guiness...

:(

I don't honestly recall ever having thrown up after imbibing Guinness... North American draughts to be sure, but never Guinness...

that's because guinness turns into a ball of lead in your belly and makes you want to stop drinking it before you get to the point of having to puke.

Gotta probelm with growin a little hair on yer chest, huh?

The bottle now has a widget in it just like a can.
However Guinness cans are 16 oz. and bottles are 12 oz. so I still prefer the cans.

Really? I'm looking at a bottle right now that says brewed and bottled in Ireland. But I'm in Mexico so maybe our imported comes from Ireland and the US imported comes from Canada.

BTW, if I can't get it on tap, which I can't in Mexico, I prefer Guinness in the can but the last time I bought some there was only bottled Guinness.

They all have widgets, and all the bottles/cans I've had have all come from Ireland, but all that's really not important, I mean, c'mon, it's only a real Guinness at the brewery in Dublin :)

Can's are meant to be poured into a glass a few seconds after opening and not drank from the can. The bottles are NOT meant to be poured in a glass, but rather drank from the bottle. The widget in the bottle is engineered to release the combination of nitrogen and CO2 a little at a time every time the bottle is tipped back. The can is engineered to release the nitrogen and co2 all at once during the opening of the can.

Cliffs - If you are making black and tans or drinking from a glass - can (or on tap)
- If you are enjoying a guinness straight from it's original container then go bottle

Also I thought pretty much all guinness sold in the US is brewed in canada. I know they have 50 total brewery's accross the world, but the part of their site explaining this is currently down.

Also I always suggest guinness on tap if available, but only if it's poured correctly!

ALSO **NOTE** . NOT ALL GUINNESS HAS WIDGETS. Only guinness DRAUGHT (can or bottle) have widgets. Guinness Extra Stout and other variations DO NOT HAVE WIDGETS.

Doesn't matter, both are good not matter where they are brewed. Guiness has a very high standard for there brew no matter where it is brewed. And the hops come from the same place, I think.

Bottles... always choose bottles

Not with Guiness, rookie.

hand pump Guinness is best, then bottled guinness, then draught Guinness, then draught Guinness in either bottle or can......

however most people find original pump/bottle guinness too strong a flavour for them...i dont, i like a good taste, hence i like lagers such as Stella Artois and Kronenbourg, they got real flavour unlike Budweiser and Coors type lagers...

weird, time-released widgets. learn something new every day :)

yea... unfortunately, i'm not living in the land of the irish. Wish I were. american beers have gone downhill since 1800.

currently "down"....lol, *whisper* they don't want us to know!

true that! don't know if i can get a guinness barrel around here, but it'd go bad before I can drink all of it. :( I will kill the first person to pour me a guinness, can or tap, without angling it first. and I'll slap the person who doesn't do the clover in the head!

cans taste better and you get much more out of a single can for just a little bit more cost.

I went on the tour at the Guinness Store House in Dublin, and they had an exhibit explaining that when Guinness was first introduced in China and other Asian country's that the distributors over there would relabeled the bottles and that a lot of places the label for Guinness was a picture of a dog with a red tongue, so they referred to it as a "red tongued dog". Pretty funny stuff.

All the bottles I buy (drink, I'm 18) in New York say Canada.
