After thinking about it, I said screw the Mazda 3.

You're making a big mistake!
Mazda 3 is an awsome car. LOL
My Mazda 3 went back to the dealer since last Thursday for repair because there's some mechanic errors such as abs light, brake light and airbag light came up. Brake making noises and some difficulty when I first start up my car. They're waiting for parts to be shipped in from Japan, that's why it's taking so long for them to fix.

Congrad. w/ your new car!! :)

"Mazda 3 is an awsome car. LOL" Were you being sarcastic (since your next paragraph complained about problems with the car)?

Yeah Mazda 3 looks awesome & I was very keen on getting it but the dealer was not at all willing for any negotiations. If you get a fully loaded it comes upto like 18-19 k . Well then came along that kool deal on civics and I got one for 14.5k out of the door.
Screw you mazda.

Well, the Mazda 3 I was looking at was a four door any way; and this automatic that I just got does have 240 ponies pulling it.

Get the rubber trunk tray - it's a lifesaver for the trunk :) I'd suggest the rubber all-season floormats too if you're concerned about the carpet too - it doesn't really matter what you spray on or do to it - it's going to get dirty.

Sorry for your money lost :(

Sorry, the standard euro accords have the wussier base k20 engines. The USDM 4 cylinder is a k24, it's like a stroker version of the k20, it makes a little bit more HP and a lot more low/mid TQ.

The main saving grace of the euro accord is supposedly handling, but you can get very good handling with an acura CL/TL/TSX OEM rear stabilizer bar swap. It's like $75 in parts even from the dealer.

Hey, thanks for reminding me about the stabilizer bar. I swapped out a Civic's with an RSX's for a friend last week, that thing did handle a lot better.

Check the price again dude. The 30K mentioned is WITH EVERYTHING, including INTERESTS. For a car that has everything, I think I got a good deal. V-6, leather, roof, dual climate zone control, driver and passenger 8 ways adjustable seats (with seat warmers). All the fcuking air bags in the world surround me and passenger, ABS, basically the top of the line Accord except for the Nav system (which add a ridiculous $2500 to the price tag). If you can go to any dealer and beat that price, let me know.

Oh... I almost forgot, I almost got away for 28K, except for the additional 2K for extended service, mentioned above.

ouch ur GF got suckered in that additional 2k, u know if u got an outside warranty it will be cheaper than that right?

and chances of an accord breaking down is VERY small.... my old accord had no problems whatsoever....

moral of the story is NEVER leave a girl to negotiate a car sale lol...

Do you know where I can find good deals on third party extended service? It's only been a few days, if I cancel now, I shouldn't lose that much money, right?

uh no, if u signed something u cant cancel out of it...

I made the same mistake when I purchased my accord (it was the 98 model)
I paid an additional 1500 to go to 60k miles and 4 years I think?? and I never used the warranty at all....:(:(

U DONT need additional warranty on an honda.. trust me

if something does go wrong with the car, it will go wrong the first year and the car will still be under warranty

Still, couldn't you have gotten a baseline TL for a few $$$ more??? Or a nicely equipped TSX (that looks better, feels better, and is more fun to drive??) I'm not saying you got gypped...just it seems so wrong to spend that kind of money on an Accord!

Actually, warranty is something that you CAN cancel, but you'll get a prorated amount back depends on how they calculate it. I bet if I cancel now, I'll lose a couple of hundreds.

Actually, I think the warranty is for 100K, or 5 yrs. And I fought with them to bring the price on it down to 1300, but they took it out of the car and put it back. I didn't really care, cuz the paper was signed.

The base TL is like 35k before TTL AND interest. The TSX has no balls, it's barely faster than the 4 banger accord and slower than the V6.

u know that the warranty does not come from the dealer right? it is from a 3rd party... (well at least in my case)
that 3rd party is making money, and the dealership is also making money..

so who they shafted?? customers....

EDIT: oh yeah u can cancel the warranty but u will get prorated rate..
