WTF is that. Are they supposed to be highly acclaimed critics? Awful.
I wasted 3 minutes of my life on that.
WTF is that. Are they supposed to be highly acclaimed critics? Awful.
And so...
Exactly. The assumption, after the end of The Dark World, is that Loki has imprisoned Odin somewhere and is now masquerading as him.
The catch could always be that he only did it to speak to Thor but I'd imagine that with Thor gone, nothing would be stopping Loki from ruling Asgard as Odin. So, we make the guess that it was actually Loki, masquerading as Odin to Sif and Volstagg, ordered the Aether removed from Asgard and delivered to Taneleer.
Until more information is brought up in future movies, of course. We've got quite a few movies to get through before Avengers 3.
I read the first few pages of Thanos' Quest last night, but at one point he mentions to Death that he has already had the stones before. I thought this whole Infinity storyline was the first time he got them all, but apparently not. Is there something else I need to read before Thanos' Quest, or do I just need to track down those few Silver Surfer issues zin was mentioning?
KT
not sure, but I imagine he had one or two of them, in dealing with Adam Warlock before Thanos was killed at that time. Warlock has/had the soul gem for the longest time, and I believe he once imprisoned Thanos inside soul world.
Or, it could be some temporary obscure story, or a few panels from some comic earlier, where Thanos has acquired this "galaxy crystal" or whatever, yet is defeated by some lame dipshit like Human Torch...and it would be years later that this "galaxy crystal" is renamed an Infinity Gem and given real power.
NO idea, really. Usually, when characters make a reference like that, there is a note at the bottom of the panel referring to the comic and issue when that happened :\

Thanos had previously encountered the Soul Gems (they weren't called the infinity gems yet, as he hadn't named them) when he helped Adam Warlock fight Magnus. He then devised a plan to use the gems, which Warlock had one of, to create a weapon. During this conflict, Warlock is able to kill Thanos. Death resurrects him and charges him with the task of 'restoring balance' by killing half the living species in the universe. It wasn't until Thanos Quest that he gazes into the Infinity Well and was able to decipher the true power of the soul gems, and hatches his plan to gather them to more quickly achieve his task for Death.
I don't remember what issues this was, or if it was a one shot. I tried to look it up, but didn't find it. I do know it happens after Thanos attempts to impress Death by obtaining the Cosmic Cube and bombarding Titan.

Captain Marvel and Moondragon arrive at Avengers Mansion, closely followed by Adam Warlock, who reveals that Thanos has returned, gathered the energies of the six Soul Gems in a giant synthetic jewel, and plans to snuff out the stars themselves. The heroes rocket into space to stop Thanos's approaching armada. Even as they combat a horde of aliens foes, Warlock finds his companion, Pip the Troll, murdered, and absorbs his spirit into his Soul Gem, 3S he had done earlier on finding the dying Gamora. Warlock and Captain Marvel then locate Thanos, and Mar-Veil is knocked unconscious as he smashes the villain's energy-projector. Then Warlock and Thanos clash, and the golden-skinned hero falls. At once. Thor arrives to engage Thanos, while Iron Man destroys his artificial soul gem. Foiled, the Titan vanishes. Nearby, an astonished Captain Marvel watches as a second Warlock appears from the past and absorbs the spirit of his dying present self. Warlock awakens to find himself reunited with his friends in a world of peace and happiness within the Soul Gem itself.
Plagued with dreams from Master Order and Lord Chaos, telling them of the battle between Thanos, Captain Marvel, and the Avengers over the fate of the galaxy, Spider-Man and the Thing are compelled to investigate these dreams by taking a ship out into space. There they find Thanos' ship, and the board it, there they are attacked by the hordes of Thanos, while deep within the Soul Gem, Adam Warlock's soul meets with Gamora and Pip. While in the real world, Thanos joins the fight which takes Spider-Man and Thing into the room where the Avengers and Captain Marvel are being held in stasis. During the fight, Spider-Man frees the Avengers leading to an all out assault on Thanos.
Over powered, the heroes prove unable to defeat Thanos until Spider-Man manages to free the Soul Gem, causing the soul of Adam Warlock to appear from it and turn Thanos into stone. After rejoicing over their victory, the heroes have a funeral and bury Adam Warlock on an asteroid in space. While Adam's soul finds peace within the Soul Gem, Thanos finds himself in a living hell made of stone.
Alright nerds, who is stronger, Thanos or Apocalypse?
Yeah he looked so red and kind of weird in The Avengers. Much cooler in this movie. Not sure how they will make him thicker though. :hmm:
I would totally be down for another Howard the Duck flick; loved the original as a kid.

Alright nerds, who is stronger, Thanos or Apocalypse?
I enjoyed the original as a kid, but I also enjoyed a lot of questionable things (Power Rangers, Surf Ninjas*, John Wayne as Genghis Khan comics).
Thanos by a mile. (er, by a shitload of lightyears)
Alright nerds, who is stronger, Thanos or Apocalypse?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celestial_(comics)Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet ranked the Celestials as being on roughly the same scale of power as Galactus, the Stranger, Odin, and Zeus, but below that of Mistress Love, Lord Chaos, and Master Order.[24]
and
Reed Richards theorized that the Celestials' source of power was Hyperspace itself the source of all energy in the Marvel Universe. The characters are almost totally invulnerable, and have only been harmed in rare instances[18][19] before instantly regenerating.[20]
Apocalypse is an ancient mutant born with a variety of superhuman abilities who further augmented himself after merging with Celestial technology. The character has total control over the molecules of his body, enabling him to alter his form as it suits him,[65] such as allowing his body to become extremely malleable and flexible or change its size, enhance his physical abilities, transform his limbs into weapons, wings, or jets, regenerate from fatal injuries, adapt his body to apparently any disease or hostile environment, and give himself virtually any physical superhuman power.[66] The character is also able to project and absorb energy, and has displayed telepathy and telekinesis. Apocalypse is as well capable of technopathy, able to directly interface with the various technologies he has at his disposal. Thanks to the aid of his mutant abilities, special "regeneration" chambers,[67] and changing bodies, Apocalypse has made himself effectively immortal.[68]
Aside from his superhuman powers, Apocalypse is extraordinarily intelligent,[69] a scientific genius with knowledge in various areas of science and technology including physics, engineering, genetics and biology, that is far more advanced than conventional science.[70] Apocalypse has knowledge of Celestial technology that he uses for his own applications, such as altering mutants or humans. Apocalypse is also a skilled demagogue and a master strategist.[71]
Ikaris' cosmic powers:Apocalypse is confronted by his centuries-old foe, Ikaris, who now is a Prime Eternal. Although Apocalypse defeats Ikaris, the Eternal still succeeds in destroying his ship and thwarting his plan.[39]
Ikaris' life force is augmented by cosmic energy and he has total mental control over his physical form and bodily processes even when he is asleep or unconscious. As a result he is virtually immortal, immune to disease and aging, and invulnerable to conventional forms of injury. Should Ikaris be injured somehow, he could regenerate any injured or missing tissue. Cosmic energy bolsters Ikaris's metabolism so that he does not tire from any physical exertion. He can resist temperature extremes through mental concentration.
Ikaris can project cosmic energy in the form of beams from his eyes or beams and flashes from his hands. This cosmic energy, stored in specialized enclaves of cells in his body, can be used as force, heat, light, and possibly other forms of electromagnetic energy.
Hated it. Geared for a 10 year old. Lame humor. Corny.
Ok I guess if your 10 years old and your mom won't let you see a movie unless she goes along too.
