What the heck Nvidia. The gtx770 at $400 makes the gtx780 look even more out of place. ???????????
Anyways, amazing to see 8ghz GDDR5 vram! That is INSANE!

Whoa, at $400, that is a great deal. Looks like it uses the Titan cooler as well, no?
So, GTX 770 is faster, cheaper and consumes less power than HD 7970 GHz.

I wonder how AMD fanboys will promote not to buy this card this time? :whiste:

From that perspective (alone) it's pretty meh. No wonder they didn't try jack up the prices.10% performance increase over the GTX 670
I wonder how far the GHz will go down?

All but one of TPU's samples hit over 8000MHz, still has some gas in the tank from stock, not too bad. The power vs 680 and GHz is quite nice to see I wonder if that's refinements in the uarch or simply process maturity?
There is almost no power difference between 770 and 680
Almost no power difference, with higher performance.
My question is if that's from slight changes in the uarch, or simply process maturity.
It's the same chip version. So it comes from better binning and process maturity.

I don't see anything to indicate binning. It's just a 680 with 50MHz more, it doesn't even OC any better. Unless nv has given you the privileged info?
I hope you sleep like Rip Van WinklePretty good for the price. Wake me up for 20nm though .....

It seems like the 7Gbps modules are already near their maximum limits, having been pushed well past the frequencies of previous designs. Our sample hit a plateau of 7468MHz, above which the GDDR5s error correction kicked in and capped performance.
Don't think the power consumption got any better for sure.
And at least on their sample:
I don't think there's anything changed behind the scenes with the 770. Best news is the price drop! Which means 7970 may drop as well.
