Yes, it's shared, but the PS4 has a total of 8GB some people say 6GB is available for the game while others are saying it's 4.5-5GB. Either way you look at it, it's more than 4GB which is one reason why 4GB is a major point of contention, especially for a top end part.
First computers aren't consoles. Second that's 8gb of shared ram. Quoting the max ram usage of a console for games as the minimum needed for VRAM makes 0 sense in that regard.
Really most of what has been posted here drawing conclusions from consoles has all been just lulz worthy. If you want to base your ram usage off consoles then technically 4 GB of system ram and 4 GB of vram should be more than enough....
Lots of just lol posts in this thread. I guess gtx 970 owners should throw away their useless 3.5 GB cards....
