I've got a question for those of you who know about beating things into working... I have a USB Logitech Wingman gamepad that I want to use to play the game (as opposed to mouse and keyboard). Windows (XP) says it's working fine, but when I go into GTA, the game isn't recognizing my D-pad. All the other buttons work fine, but the D-pad isn't responding at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've got a an Nforce board running the integrated video w/ 32 megs of ram allocated to it. XP 1600 CPU, 512 megs ram, winXP pro...running 1024x768x32 without the slightest lag or hiccup.
Using integrated sound as well, and keyboard&mouse combo.

The game ROCKS in any event, and I feel they deserve the money. Runs like a top (as it should) on my P4 2.13Ghz/512 MB/Geforce3ti200.

That's the most pathetic excuse I've ever heard. You say paying for univeristy is more important to me - how about making your grades instead of wasting your own money by playing games and not studying? i have played both now, and the yare the same gameplay, but the pc version has very nicely enhanced graphics. thats is the only difference i have found so far

I was looking at the first impressions "review" on IGN PC today. They said another difference was the dismemberment in the PC version that is not present in the PS2 version.

Well, just finished playing it for a while...and of course, THE GAME OWNS!!!!
I only got to play the PS2 version for a couple hours a few months ago but as far as I can tell it's the same. The only difference is much sweeter graphics, more gore/dismemberment, and better controls (for me). It's like controlling an FPS game when you're out of the car and when you're in the car you don't use the mouse (except for special things like putting out fires with a firetruck on a firetruck mission).
And on top of that, it runs beautifully at 1024x768 on my rather outdated machine (P3-700 o/c'ed to 980mhz, 768mb, Geforce2 GTS 32meg)...smooth like buttah.
One thing i do recommend is to turn off the "trails" in the graphics menu. I think this was a feature on the PS2 version to compensate for lower frame rates...it's a form of motion blur and I didn't like it much, especially at night time...so I turned it off and it looks much better.
GO GET THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! So damn fun
p.s. stop railing on Marty for god's sake...don't you guys have anything better to do? yelling at him won't accomplish anything
