Can you accomplish this ONE simple task to prove that I'm FOS, or that it's a video card issue?
1) Find an ambulance - take a screenshot. This is the car on which the lack of reflections and piss-poor texturing is most evident.
2) Blow up a car (that isn't black to begin with) - take a screenshot.

i'll get some once i can find a good warez place to d/l it from lol

I am currently enjoying the gameplay and the gangsterness, however, the graphic do suck.

Not for me, they look great. But yeah, the gameplay is awesome. I just finished "wrong side of the tracks," and it was tough, got it on my 4th try. It was fun though. I'd love to do some gameplay vids, but bandwidth is something I do not have.

Eye has saved me a few times this week 😛 I bought me surge supressors for my coax and ethernet lines yesterday, and today, I will not buy GTA 😀

shiat bro, that was fvckin' good shiat, man 🙂 Fvck man - that game looks like muthafvckin' cool shiat 🙂

OK, I found some space. Here is a 4 min vid of me doing the best mission I've been through so far....

GTA SA Gameplay Vid

60MB - Not for the bandwidth challenged 🙂

Enjoy!!

HTF do you keep up with a train?

The trick was to try to take out the 2 guys in the back, and then get in front of it to get the other two guys. It took me 4 tries to get this mission right.

That's me, always risking life, limb and cash for the common good.

On the other hand, I, too, have stuck it out and actually played the damn game. It's going A LOT faster than my PS2 runthrough, and things have been relatively decent, though I keep stumbling upon piss-poor control mapping (ENTER is a key in melee combat. Kind of hard to do WSAD+Mouse+ENTER, ain't it?) and a few isolated gameplay bugs.

I think F and Enter are the same action.

Yea, pretty much.

I'm not impressed, the controls are worse than in vice city where they were just perfect

the graphics are bad.... bad

When gta3 came out the graphcis were awsome, when vice city came out the graphics were slightly below average but the gameplay made up for it, now with san andreas the graphics are horrid and I'm not sure yet if the gameplay can make up for it, they could at least have made fingers for the main characters.

The enter and space buttons are a really bad choice, sometimes enter means to enter cars and yet when selecting hairdoos, clothes, tattoos enter means nope dont want it while space means yes gimme some... then suddenly when you are talking to someone you get the option of selecting Y for yes and N for no which would make perfect sense instead of that enter/space crap.

The city is huge, love it 🙂

You DO know you can remap the key config right? So if you don't like the way it is, you can make it any way which makes you feel better and makes you stop whining about it.

Vice city looks better at 1280 6xAA 16AF on my 9800 pro than any of the screenies i've seen here , and runs smooth as butter for me 😉

yes, but why should I have to? the default keys for vice city and gta3 were much better, actually they improved with vice city over gta3, why the sudden change to the worse?

san andreas just screams "console port" while gta3 and vice city were more defined as a pc game

I've been looking at your "highest setting" shots.

Damn, that draw distance is quite dissapointing, sure theres no way to increase it anymore?

your movie cliip was disheartening... they made driving on rail road tracks the same as the road... and where is all the body armor on those train militants since they are taking clips of uzi's in tank tops... plus, they only shoot at you one at a time, only when you are directly to the side... are all/most of the missions that lame?
