Grown men who sit down to pee.

I was rather shocked recently to find out that no less than two adult men I know sit to pee at all times. They are fully ambulatory, mobile, healthy grown men. In one case he was trained as a child to pee sitting down and still does it to this day. In another case I think the guy was actually trained by his wife to do it (and she trains her boys to do the same).

I consider this behavior to be utterly reprehensible in a grown man. Anybody here willing to admit to this stunning defeat of being a man?

I don't do it - but I can understand why some do.

When I piss it comes out in a LARGE, non-fast stream. So think about that for a second and what that entails.... Large stream dropping into a bowl of water.....

It means a ton of backsplash. Every time. No question. Everytime I piss it gets on the toilet, on the walls (depending how close to the toilet they are), and everywhere around. Albeit, it's just a drop, but still. Whats the only way to prevent the backsplash? Obviously sitting down.

I'm not about to grab a stall everytime I have to piss at work or in public though. Everyone will think you always need to crap. Plus it's just not convenient.

Along with greater strength and cooking ability, standing to pee marks our superiority to women. It's like going into (modern)battle with spears. Intentionally gimping yourself like that is pointless, and brings disgrace to us all.

It means not having to touch your junk. Also, it means you can keep the toilet seat down at all times. No need to dirty your hands after having to lift the lid, you know, where all the flushed water splashes on.

It's just less work all around to pull down your pants and sit.

In a public restroom though I wouldn't sit unless I'm dropping the deuce. I'll even pee through the toilet seat being down.

Four in the morning at home, get out of bed and it's dark? I'll sit down so I don't miss.

Anywhere else besides home? I stand back as far as needed to eliminate any possibility of splashback and let her rip. It might make a mess, but really it's just employment security for the underclass. I'm a job creator.

I usually do, cause I want to sit down and think awhile.

Doesn't splash around either.

And I go over the underwear at urinals, how far we going 😛

My gawd man....they have pee holes in mens undies.

meltdown, whom rarely if ever posts here these days, once produced an ascii diagram of the difference between a young man, middle-aged man, and older fellow's urine stream. It was quite hilarious.

If only someone with real ATsearch-fu could dig this up. :whiste:

Anyway, that is a fine illustration of why men sometimes evolve towards this habit as they age.

Nothing about other people shocks me anymore. But then again I don't care how other people pee either.

Same here .... although less because I might miss then because I'm freaking tired!

Any other time I stand. (and sadly at my age it just works better when I stand for obvious reasons!)
