Good, the more publicity this brat gets, the better for everyone to see how she's being used to push an excuse to steal the people's money.

Yep. Some random girl scowls and looks miserable and does nothing and the media for whatever reason goes crazy over her. Meanwhile many other people do useful things and go completely unnoticed. So if her sail boat sank I would laugh. Not because I'm a trumper or a conservative or I hate the environment, but just because I find the hypocrisy surrounding this miserable little person to be quite ridiculous.
You are seriously wishing death (or at least would get joy in her death) on a 16 year-old girl because she dared to speak up for her future and people noticed? I think you have some serious issues.

The best (or worst) part is that if the mods were to do anything about his casual death threat towards someone because he disagrees with their speech, he'd likely claim that it's his free speech that's being infringed upon.

Man yeah it would sure be funny if a little girl died because she made a speech you didn’t like.

What is wrong with you.

I'm not sure how this nobody ended up "person of the year" but it is TIME magazine. Do I care who they vote for their person of the year? Nope. They are as relevant to me as the ants in my back yard.

Then why are you bothering to respond in the thread? And Greta Thunburg isn't really a nobody unless you've been intentionally avoiding the news for the last year.

useful things related to climate change.

teams like the one my wife works on, they help fortune 500s set and reach science based emissions goals, renewable energy goals and more broadly, inclusive climate change goals. most of the goals are net zero or better. the team she works on is probably responsible for some very measurable part of reductions in the US.

That sounds really awesome. Why isn't that team or program ending up with some kind of equivalent media/online presence? Seemed pretty easy for a kid to do it.

because they are not kids, and they work for the companies you interact with everyday, your banks, your computer hardware and software manufactures, your insurance companies and increasingly, the companies that supply all of those companies that you have never head of.

What I mean is, if this team/program has the potential of dramatically affecting co2 emissions, the path of climate change, etc, why aren't they getting more play? Who's their media/outreach manager and why aren't they putting on their try-hard hat? Who's not talking in front of a camera that should be?

Great, some people are working behind the scenes. But there is still so much more to be done, which requires spokespeople to build political support. We can't rely on a few faceless companies alone to save us. We actually need large scale changes in government policy to make a much bigger sent.

The "Trump Problem" distilled down to it's rancid, putrid essence: "I don't get the respect I deserve and people will pay for this!! I'll make'um respect me!!"

If only the shithead realized that giving him the presidency was like handing a 6 year old morally bankrupt incorrigible delinquent spoiled brat a driver's license for a D11 Cat and then instructing him drive it through downtown Manhattan in rush hour traffic.

Well sure, some folks (millions actually) like him/love him because he's their child you know? and thus he should be able to do anything his little blackened heart desires to uhhh, "keep him happy". But that little tyrannical tyke is at this very moment running amok in the toy store causing mayhem and chaos and he is stealing things with the unconditional permission and support of his keepers, bless his klepto little hands.

The brat should be disciplined despite the very loud objections his babysitters are making about the effort to do just that. "Leave him alone!!" they say because he's enjoying himself and that makes them happy too, can't you see fer cry'in out loud?

The cops in the House got called, are making an effort to remove the wantonly destructive miscreant from the store but the parents are lying on their backs flailing their arms in the air kicking and screaming that their child has every right to effect as much damage as he likes because other people will pay for it, K?

If we don't stop Greta, then the Obamas and Clintons will make her the 46th President of the United States of America.

Do YOU want our nation rules by a demented Swedish Queen who will open our borders to Islamists and FORCE us to be slaves to them!?!?

Why is the GOP answer always to reduce regulations?

Rolling back regulations isn't going to get us where we need to be. Regulations are a good thing if you're a human being, not so much if you're a company, but if they're going to make money here on earth they need to play by the rules and be responsible. ..see clean Air act for example.

If we left it up to companies we'd be in an even bigger hole than we're currently in.
