Most accounts say it is a production line problem. The game is expected to be released the first week of December.

A lot of people were already upset that that scrapped the track editor in favor of a track 'suggester'. A real track builder would have been sweet and allowed us to recreate all the tracks that weren't in the game. I know a couple guys who went out and gps the entire Seattle and Portland road courses (where we do our trackdays) so we could race them in game. First they dump the feature, and now an 'indefinite' release date.

They may be doing the same as MOH and bundling the anti-jailbreak PS3 firmware with it. http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/medal_honor_takes_out_psjailbreak_342_firmware

A full track editor for GT5 was never mentioned by the team anywhere. Your friends wasted their time for nothing, but if they want they can use the data to make the tracks in ModNation Racers. :p

Are you sure? I seem to remember them mentioning it.

There's a track editor.. but from what I hear it's more of a random track that populates to whatever variables you put in. I don't think I'd be able to recreate Buttonwillow or Thunderhill for example..

Want to know what's really funny? At this rate DNF will get released before GT5. How's that for a laugh? ;)

The entire GT series has been made and released AFTER DNF was announced... So I don't see how that's funny. Getting DNF before GT5 is exactly what you'd expect.

Ahahaha... It's now listed on Amazon and BestBuy for a 1/1/11 release.

to be fair, amazon and best buy give arbitary release dates like first of the year when they have no clue what the release date is.

since they just said 'holiday 2010' no one has any idea on the actual release date.

so in the grand scheme of things, the amazon and bestbuy listings mean absolutely nothing.

Probably my fault guys. I NEVER preorder games, but I did for GT5 yesterday. Donning torch-proof flamesuit and and pitchfork-proof armor.

I'm reminded of School by Nirvana:
Wouldn't you believe it? It's just my luck.
There's no GT; no GT!

Haha, +10 points for quoting a track from Bleach. Great album.

My understanding is they all changed today around a similar time, but I could be wrong.

Word on the street is 11/22. We'll have to wait and see....

I haven't heard that one at all and it makes no sense seeing as it's a Monday. I've read on either the 11/30 which is a Tuesday and even Black Friday 11/26 for some reason.

I think Black Friday would be a great release date for a high profile game such at GT5, as long as quantities of stock were sufficient.
