So just by luck I won a 160GB PS3 at work on Friday, and as a long standing member of our Forza3 game nights was wondering whether there was sufficient interest in the Forza group with PS3's, as well as non-Forza participants with a PS3 to have a GT5 night? I know it's jumping the gun a bit as it's still 3 weeks from launch, but it seems our weekly Forza races are waning somewhat, and I really enjoy the group comraderie. Plus since (at least AFAIK) there won't be the issue of having a XBL Gold account like we did with Forza etc on PSN (PSN Plus) we should have less issues there.

I'm sure there will be a GT5 night, but first you need to see the game in your hands. It's been delayed so much I wouldn't trust a release date until you actually buy it.

I got to play it briefly(there was only 1 demo station) @ PAX 2010 (one nice thing about living in Seattle) and it sure looked ready to go. I asked the booth monkey if they were firm on the RD and he assured me (for what it's worth) that the game will ship for a Nov 2 release date.

I sold my Xbox today (sad to see it go, but I really only used it for Forza).

PS3 arriving this week. I'm up for a GT5 night, as long as its not Tuesday

a bit off topic, how'd you win the PS3? Was is just a drawing?

I won "points" in a corporate level promotional drawing and could choose from a variety of things. Things I could've gotten, a 1000w Sony Bluray HT in a box, a 700w LG networked Bluray HT in a box, a 64gb Gen4 Ipod touch, a Nikon or Canon 12mp 15-20x zoom digital camera, a Sony 80gb HD camcorder, a 250GD 360 Slim, 2 different netbooks. There was a ton of other stuff as well.

I'm definitely down for a GT5 night. I'm not too worried about the release date at this point since they already have official Sony GT launch parties set up.

I'm considering picking up a PS3 for GT5 anyways, I'd be down. I haven't been racing lately because Wednesday is a tough day for me this semester.

I'm gonna pre-order it but I don't think the collector's edition is worth the extra $40. I don't care about collectible stuff and I don't think the extra cars are worth $40.

The uber-edition isn't available here in the US anyway, though if the collectors is $100 I can only imagine what the signature costs.

The Signature Edition, which is exclusive to Europe, Australia and New Zealand, will include a steel case finished in 'Obsidian Black' (official Mercedes SLS AMG colour choice), a coffee table book that details the cars and locations in GT5, a 200 page APEX book, a Gran Turismo branded wallet, a GT branded USB pen drive, custom etched Keychain, a 1:43 scale Mercedes-Benz SLS model and a voucher for six special "Stealth" cars in-game.

I'm surprised Amazon isn't doing the $10 credit deal. Walmart is giving $10 on Fallout:New Vegas, $10 on GT5, and $20 on Fable3.

See that sounds worth more like $100 than the collector's edition but like you said it's probably more expensive.

The U.S. Collector's edition has the model car, keychain, five cars, and the 300 page guide.

Is anybody else concerned that we havent seen an official track/car list at this point?

I know the game is coming out (buying a PS3 just for it..) but it still seems odd that we dont really have many details yet

I'll be buying GT5. Played through GT: Prologue in the first couple weeks after it released a couple years back. I also own a 360 and the only game I play on it is Forza III, but never got into the AT race nights.

depends on how good a deal i can get for the game.

About the best I've seen is $59.95 with a $10 gift card @ Walmart or Amazon. I'd check the Gtplanet forums if you are looking for some uber deal somewhere. I know that Newegg had it for like $48 shipped but it was only for 12hrs or something ridiculous like that.

I wouldn't even trust it even if I could buy it. I have to get all my licenses and see my completion be 51% before I can say yeah the game is here.
